I love Chicopee, despite the $5 parking fee (you can get a $50 annual pass). Suspension bridge, lots of mushrooms and creek access. Trail is well marked with mile markers. The trail is well maintained, but not overdone. Highly recommend. There is no fishing here, but I see that tule broken often. Dogs are only allowed on weekends, but I also see that rule broken often.

This trail has now been split into two trails: The Bridge Loop (2.91 miles) and the Lake loop (3.0 miles). Dogs are only allowed on weekend and must be on a leash at all times. No bathroom at Chicopee Lake.

Really nice trail. Well maintained. Nice variety for a 5 mile walk. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is lack of bathrooms on weekends (given there’s a parking fee, would expect something) and the interstate noise.

Great trail. My wife and I run the full loop which map my run says 5.15 miles. A great work out. Several different routes you can take for a shorter or longer route . Keep the head down for roots. It’s well maintained and a great peaceful run, walk, or hike. Will see some dear and ducks or geese on the pond. During the week we only pass one or two people. Weekends a little more but really we don’t see a lot of people.

Habitual hikers will definitely find this trail easy, it’s a little weird to see it marked as a moderate here. The trail is clearly marked, minimal elevation changes, no rock scrambling, and the path is relatively clear of hidden stones. I switched from hiking boots to tennis shoes at the last second before going and didn’t regret it a bit. It is very peaceful and pleasant, following streams most of the way. I was surprised that there was an entrance fee for such a small park, but no regrets.

We were greeted by the gate attendant with a set of dog rules and were given a long talk about keeping our dogs on the leash. She stated that they may be banning dogs altogether even on the weekends. We reluctantly went ahead with the hike but the more I thought about the dog “unfriendly” greeting we received the more pissed I got. We ended the hike after less than a mile never to return. Fxxxx this place!

Beautiful views of wildlife, trees, lake, and numerous streams and bridges. Good for trail running and has nice elevation changes. I saw several snakes and lizards and salamanders, along with numerous birds and water fowl

Great trail. Mostly shaded and wide. Well marked...no ticks, snakes or bears! Not at all steep or difficult. Just enough to give us some cardio. Definitely recommend and we will return.

Amazing hike! Clean and clear trail. Nice streams and beautiful woods. There is a $5 charge to enter so make it worth it and stay the day and do as much as you can.

My son and I had a good time on this trail. It was well marked. We went during the hottest part of the day and the trees gave us a lot of protection from the heat.

Fun, easy trail. Very well marked. They payoff of the lake at the end was less than spectacular. I went mid afternoon and only saw a couple other hikers. I’d recommend bug spray. Only took me a couple hours.

its summer and ticks and fleas come out, but this place is INFESTED with ticks. Found ticks all over my dog and on me. Please be aware and check your pups and little ones.

Love these trails. I hike them at least 5 times a week. They’re moderate minus. There’s really 2 loops, a lake loop, and a bridge loop. If you do a figure 8 you can get 6 miles out of this hike.

Great clean trail. All the blow down and debris has been cleaned off the trail. Some areas under restoration but there are side trails just like you on the normal trail. Many places to hike and all clearly marked. Beautiful creek crossings over bridges and the picnic area is secluded with 3 picnic tables for rest, lunch or dinner. Excellent trail, definitely recommend.

Very nice easy going trail. A lot of water views, little streams and the aquatics center. Trail does have a lot of roots and some stony areas. We picked a great day to walk it - high was around 60° - beautiful crisp weather and unbelievably blue sky. Trail is blazed very well and all the people we came across were friendly.

A great place for trail running, hills but easy to run them all. Nothing extreme but still challenging, for me anyway

I did the trail today June 24, 2018 with my pup. Trail was perfectly blazed, I had zero problems following orange blazes for the entire 5 miles. they were marked at least every 50 paces. path was well cared for and a very nice walk, with gentle climbs and obstacles. I found it a very beautiful walk. my only complaint were the gnats which 8 couldn't get out of my eyes.

I had an enjoyable hike. Some of the trails toward the end weren’t as clear as I thought they should be. I am glad I have the AllTrails app on my phone. I saw a few deer. I did the 4.7 mile west lake/East Lake Trail. I will return with a group and hike this trail once again.

My experience was just ok. I don't agree that the map or the park was well marked. Twice I came across a point where there were 2 paths to move forward and neither pathway was marked and I just had to take a guess. The map they give you really confused me. There were areas I came across that weren't on the map. I never got to the lake and apparently went in a giant circle. At one point I tried to get back to the nature center (where I parked) and followed a marker that pointed to that direction...well the next 2 markers after that didn't say I was heading to the nature center and I was afraid I had gone the wrong way. Finally 20 min. later the 3rd marker showed I was heading toward the right direction which gave me a sigh of relief. Because of all of the confusion, bad map, not that great of markers, etc....it made my experience not that great and unable to enjoy my surroundings. Also there is a $5 parking fee NOT $1 as previously said by another.

The trail entrances aren’t well marked when you first arrive; but the trail itself is beautiful. I have gone twice over this last week because it was so enjoyable.

Enjoyed West Lake, East Lake and Dunlop Trails. Well marked and well maintained. Lots of down trees but all trails were cleared. Did not see another human being for the first 45 minutes of my hike. Saw many butterflies and birds. Peaceful during the week.
