Not crowded, but well marked (still see paint on leaves on ground). Nice hike.

Good trail. Kept up well. Even saw a young doe. There’s not too many places to sit, like rocks but still a good trail. Lots of shade. The trail has changed a little since this trail map was published.

A nice hike to the river, ended up being about 7.5 miles out and back. Watch out for ticks. I wore pants, repellent and did my best to avoid contact with tall grass and plants but still had to continually stop and flick ticks off my pants and shirt. As others have said be careful once you pass the visitor center, there’s an easy to miss turn. A little over a mile in you’ll pass the visitor center, then you’ll hike along a stream for a few minutes and the cross a small wooden bridge. Once you cross the bridge start looking for the turn. Its up hill on the left and is easy to miss. Look close and you’ll see a blue blaze up on a tree. I missed it because the trail you’re on looks like it continues straight but if you keep straight you’ll eventually end up in an overgrown area. After the Bobwhite Way Road crossing, they’ve constructed a new picnic and cabin area which means that the trail doesn’t follow what’s on the App. Just keep following the blue blazes and it will lead you back to the planned route.

Note that as a newbie to AllTrails, we discovered it was 6.1 miles EACH way.

nice trail following water stream. not too crowded and some good up / down hills making it moderate and not easy. careful a bit after the visitor center and as mentioned in other reviews about not missing the turn to the left, even if the path looks like the trail, after few minutes you realize this is is not the good direction. good diversity of canopy, trees and terrain

I thoroughly enjoyed this hike. Although it came in closer to 7.4 miles, rather than 6.1. At several Points you meander along creek With some small waterfalls. The terrain definitely is moderate, but nothing that you have to scramble over. I made the mistake of starting in the early afternoon. Since were so early in the spring, the tree canopy was not filled out, and I got sun most of the hike. I would imagine that once the trees leaf out this will be a gorgeous well shaded hike for most of it. Overall the trail is very well marked. There is one spot, probably about a mile and a half in, where the trail makes a very sharp dogleg. I miss this going out and coming back, continuing straight there is a well worn path, although after about 100 yards you get to a bit more uncleared area and get the sense that maybe you missed the turn.

Beautiful and dynamic trail in terms of scenery. Absolutely loved the first part! We made it a loop and regretted it. Would suggest sticking with the out and back.
