Shaded. Lots of hikers. Took 20 minutes to park, but worth the wait.

The ruins are great, especially the ones across the creek. I agree with the other reviews that the trail could be marked better. The multiple off shoots make it hard to stay on trail. The parking lot is small and the fee was done online, you’ll need your plate number.

Great trail. highly populated on a Sunday morning. lots of bikes, leashed dogs, and children. can be confusing but a great walk. ended up with 4 miles walking from the elementary school. the parking lot for the trail is small.

the trail is fine but very confusing. There were several off-shoots that were not on the map. Lots of garbage left behind. so many dirty diapers and dog poop bags. that was a one-time trip for me.

Nice trail. Chose to start off the route which goes along the mill ruins and creek and then continued along paths where you're sharing the trail with the bike path. Out here on a Tuesday afternoon so it was lightly trafficked. I'd return and probably hang out down in the creek area

Came to Georgia for a wedding from California and had heard we needed to check out this area. Really clean trails. Easy to navigate with the app. Awesome spot down by the river and the ruins were really cool. Next time we’ll bring food and enjoy a lunch by the river.

Great trail. Just a bit confusing to navigate, so be sure to plan in advance. Ended up going quite a bit longer than anticipated.

Nice short hike to watery rock land. My teens had a blast. We had a picnic on the rocks and then hiked some more. Could hike in circles if you’re not paying attention.

Love that this is 6 mins from me, avant- believe it’s my first time. We enjoyed the trails that wind through the middle of this loop. They’re typically the ones that state “no biking”, and offer a bit more incline variation than the loop itself. The stream sounds were nice on the parts of the loop I did hike., although it’s a bit dry this time of year. We plan to come back mountain biking soon.

Extremely fun to explore the paper mill ruins and scramble on the rocks along the river! Inland trails are nice and well marked too.

This is one of our favorite trails in the area! There are a lot of side trails and different routes to explore, so you could come several times and not go the same way. It connects to Cochran Shoals as well, which you can get in about 8 miles if you hike through both. There are main trails for bikers and side trails off of the main trails that are for hikers only. It is truly a beautiful escape from the nearby city. There is a pond that many people picnic around, or you could have a light lunch by the paper mill ruins on the river. It is extremely busy on the weekends, so much that it’s difficult to find parking. The earlier you come on the weekends, the better! And if you’re able to come on a weekday, you’re in for a treat because there will be way less traffic. There is always a lot of dogs and all that we have encountered have been extremely friendly. You’ll be guaranteed to see some wildlife, too! Be on the look out for a beautiful 8-point Buck! Wonderful trail for all levels of hikers, bikers, and trail runners.
