we have hiked it three times this week and will continue to go back at least every other day during the coronavirus pandemic. it has been a lifesaver. during the three hikes we have only met up with three other people and we all maintained our safe distance. thank you state of Georgia for keeping it open. With regards to the trail it can be 3 and 1/2 to 4 miles round-trip nice Loop well-marked you'll see wildlife it's a great place to go to get away. we saw many deer but the best was a big red fox that was interested in us as much as we were interested in him.

Trail head is at the second parking lot ($5 for the day self-pay). This time of year the trees are bare, but, the hike goes along the lake. Reasonably easy and crosses the road a few times. There are a few options to extend your hike if you want to add some smaller loops.

i would recommend this for people who liked to hike with your dog. it had some ups and downs so provided a bit of a challenge. Some areas went close to the lake, so we were glad they were releasing some water otherwise we may not have been able to cross. some lake views, some woods crosses the road is a few spots. Great morning hike!

Well marked trail with lots of blue blazes. There is a $5 parking fee if you drive, but free dock space if you boat to the park.

easy trail around the lake. there are points along the way to shorten the mileage, if you need to bail. nice for the kids. I went Dec 1, so there were leaves covering the trail, so be careful of all the roots hidden underneath.

very well marked, the big number of fallen trees on the trail was a bit irritating

Great trail, but would class it as medium not easy in some parts. Lots of spiders and webs, but the trail is very clearly marked. There is a restroom a little more than halfway through the loop. The trail weaves in and out of wooded areas, the campground, and across a few roads. We saw a few people near the campgrounds and beaches but there were no other hikers on the trail. It was a very good workout with a lot of hills. The path is well travelled but overgrown at times, especially on the second half of the loop.

Nothing real special, just a walk in the woods.

A good trail around a beautiful lake. The trail is almost overmarked with blue paint and signs as far as the eye can see, this makes it easy to follow but does disrupt the being in nature a bit. Overall a fantastic trail and the pup loved it as well

Very nice 4.5 mile loop trail that follows along the shoreline for a good bit. Beautiful scenery and great trail to observe wildlife inside the park.

why can't dogs on leashes use these trails

nice trail through the woods, parts of it had views of the lake. I went Dec 1, so the leaves on the ground made for a soft walkway. there were lots of tree roots, so you have to look down frequently. would recommend for dogs & kids. there are places along the trail to make the hike shorter if you have to bail.
