If you're not used to doing Low Country Trails it's like walking in Jurassic Park. Make sure you bring bug spray for the horse flies, I highly recommend this trail

This trail is still closed and has been for some time. Fort McAllister has one other trail option but not as scenic.

The trail was closed due to Pinebeetle infestation, so was not able to complete, but it looked nice from what I saw.

Redbird Creek Trail was nice, mostly flat. The sign at the beginning of the trail says pine beetles destroyed a patch of trees, so they were cleaning that up and to watch out for sawn trees in the path. We noticed other trees down but I think those were damaged from hurricane Matthew. They have rerouted some of the trails around large trees that were downed. The trail is easy to follow. There were plenty of birds when we went. We also found animal tracks and crabs in the mud when we walked over the bridges. We did find ticks on us, so check your self and your dogs.
