Beautiful trail that goes along the creek pretty much the entire time. A lot of water crossings and a few muddy spots. GPS said it was 5.8 miles from trail head to cliffs and back. I would definitely recommend this trail. I would rate it as moderate.

Road is currently closed - find alternate route ahead of time. Takes an extra hour if you find this out on route headed towards Helen.

Just completed this hike today. I clocked it at 4.6 miles in and out and that was going to the top of the falls. Perfect day. Very busy on my way out. It pays to get there early.

beware the hike is 7.2 miles round trip not 4.8 miles listed here. I used my GPS so I know this to be fact. regardless it's a hike worth taking. scramble up the final rock slide to view the actual falls between the two rock faces. simply beautiful

Nice trail along a small river with falls along the way. Lovely views along the valley. A bit wet in spots with exposed roots and not too steep at all. Need to pop over some stones in the creek bed to continue on the trail. We didn’t make it the entire way, but saw a nice waterfall just the same. :)

Nice trail, very crowded but thins out as you get closer to the upper falls and cliffs. In summer, the trail is busy but the upper cliffs have snakes. Get your feet wet in the upper falls.

Easy-going trail without too much elevation. Great for a quick day hike with beautiful scenery along the river. Saw several other folks along the way, but it wasn’t too crowded. Several folks had their dogs with them, but they weren’t bothersome. Trail was still a little muddy in parts from rain a couple of days ago, but overall not bad. Really enjoyed the hike and the views.

Fairly easy hike. The water rushing along the sides of the trail makes for nice photos. There are quite a few places along the edges of the river for tent camping. Lots of people and dogs along the way. Overall beautiful hike.

Great trail! Lots of fun for everyone. It had rained the day before and was pretty muddy in spots but not too muddy to be enjoyable. Tons of dogs and very well traveled.

Gorgeous trail along the river. Some parts are rocky and full of roots. Went the day after a heavy rain, so muddy. The river was beautiful. This is a great hike.

This was a good hike, pretty easy day. Good scenery most of the way, lots of brooks and small falls. The only drawback for me was how busy the trail was. There were lots of people and lots of dogs. We had to slow our pace numerous times to avoid joining other people and also had to break multiple times to allow others to pass as the trail is narrow in some areas and the traffic was so heavy. Other than that it was a good hike and good scenery.

It's $5 to park and there are toilets in the parking lot. Would recommend going early to get parking and avoid big crowds. The trail is very busy with lots of dogs. It still is a great trail with great views of waterfalls. The first falls you get to is difficult to get down to, but can be seen fine from the trail. I wouldn't recommend bringing your dog down to it as it's a lot of work. You have to slide down and it's very slippy on the rocks, getting out is a climb. The main falls at the end of the hike is well worth the trip. If you climb a little further up off main trail (very rocky) you can see the falls breaking the 2 massive boulders. If your up for more adventure and good at climbing you can continue up the rocky area and climb over a ledge. From there proceed up the mountain towards the falls, it's a good climb, but you can see down them.

$5 day use fee with a pay box, and pit privies at the parking area. While it is an easy trail, there is gradual incline and many rocky and very rooty areas that can be slippery after rainfall. I would say the difficulty averages out to moderate when including these factors and the short but very steep end climb to the falls. I am a not terribly in shape hiker and it took me two hours to get to the falls with a couple of short breaks. Lush and forested not a lot of sunlight falls into the trail itself. There are several nice campsites as well. The trail follows the water the entire distance, and honestly, some of the falls along and trail are so pretty they’re nicer than the finale. It was, however, very busy. If you prefer no to hike with much company this isn’t the trail for you.
