Beautiful hike. Make sure you follow the trail right after the first 0.2 or so miles, instead of veering left (where the yellow arrow points to). We accidentally did an extra 4.5 miles...

One of my favorite trails in the area. Isn’t hard.
Once you get to the top you are rewarded with a view of 3 states.

We hiked this trail on July 3rd with my two daughters, 8 and 10. The walk up is fine; you can take breaks when you need to and it’s not really difficult until you pass the fork. Once on the Rabun Trail, it’s slippery and wet, but stick to the sides of the trail and you’ll be fine. The views are beautiful and the forest is thick.
The summit is amazing! 360 view and mountains as far as the eye can see.
We took the long loop back from the summit and it was extremely rocky. Boots are a good idea for this one, just for the ankle support.
I’d love to see this in the fall!
