nothing special, most of the park is on private property. beautiful covered bridge though, and nice swimming hole. with the drought it wasnt much of anything.

This is not a trail. It's a bit of sidewalk that happens to connect some picnic tables together for people visiting the bridge and spillway. Part of the map is a social trail into private property that's been blocked by a giant pile of brush cause you're not supposed to be back there. Another part is a service road for the maintenance team to conveniently empty trash barrels around the bridge.

My preference is for quiet, little used trails. This area is packed with people. A playground makes it perfect for families with kids. However, there is no "getting back to nature" here. It is a cacophony here!

Beautiful location for families looking for a playground, picnic areas, Historic bridge, and scenic backdrop, that includes water, for photos. However, no hiking trails here.

there are no hiking trails here. This is however a very lovely place to swim in the river or have a picnic. There are plenty of picnic benches and paved trails to them

It’s not really a hike but it is a nice place for a picnic and to splash around in the water. There is a picnic shelter, restrooms, and a playground.

Other reviewers are right. It's not a "hike" at all. But it is a lovely little park with two playgrounds, a historic covered bridge, and a lovely river front scene perfect for midday relaxing, meditation, yoga, and maybe some splashing in warmer months. It's likely to be packed in warm weather and evenings after school so keep that in mind if you're looking for quiet.

Just a park and a covered bridge. Shouldn’t be called Pooles Mill Covered Bridge “Trail”. Should not have the word TRAIL in the title.

As the below poster said, this isn't a trail. It's a park with a river next to it.

This is a park - not a hiking trail. As a park it is a nice place to bring the family - yes, even the dogs. But even for out of shape fat guys (like me) this doesn't count as a "hike"

There is about a 0.12 mile concrete walkway that leads from the parking lot to the bridge. If you want to designate this as an ADA trail then it fits. Beyond the bridge, its approximately a 100 feet walk to view the rocky shoals, The entire portion of the trail along Settendown Creek is approximately 280 feet in length. This creek side section is not for the physically impaired. The ground is uneven, root laden, and rocky. The views are spectacular though. I went on the weekend and it was crowded. Great area for photogs; hikers will be leaving wanting more.

This is a very picturesque area with a creek running over rocks and a covered bridge. Not a great place for walking unless you like repeatedly walking around a very short loop - took less than 5 minutes. Great place to take small children- they'll enjoy the water and the playground. I don't think I'd really classify this as a trail, though.

I should have brought a swim suit not hiking shoes.

Should have read the reviews as Jeremy nailed it, this trail is blocked with fencing and the little bit of trail that remains is overgrown. There was a nice swim hole that people were hanging out at. Instead of bringing your walk shoes, bring your swimsuit.

I was not my expectations what a hiking trail should be. No markings, no signs. it only a park for little children to play at.

More of a nice place to take photos. There's several beautiful photo areas but the hiking trail is small paved area you can complete in 2 min. There's a good playground for the kids

I went to this exactly a week ago today. It is really fun for kids and has really cool sites for everyone to enjoy. I liked it because I already like hiking and running and this trail is perfect for that. There is a river and there is a rock slide. You can hop from rock to rock and in safe parts, swim! The is a rope swing over the river. The water is usually warm and it has a great park and picnic section for parties. It is very fun. I went here for a fifth grade picnic. I hopped on rocks and swung in the water. Off in the woods I climbed up a hill and it has a perfect view of the river and the nature. It was awesome.

It seems the trail at Pooles Mill Bridge Park has been closed. I took my wife for nice walk today to find the trail fenced off. You can get to the covered bridge and the water just beyond, Which was worth the effort by itself. We found the trail that follows the water is blocked by a very tall chain link fence about 50 yards in. It appears the trail is on th edge of residential land an most likely the source of some contention.
