Nice hike but not too challenging. Lots of stream crossings and small waterfalls along the way, and nice vistas on the back third. About 3 hours to do the 8 miles without ever pushing.
Trail is well marked, great variety of terrain and a few slippery rocks for fun. Going clockwise saves all the fun for the end. The falls are plentiful
Lots of muddy crossings. Some of the white candle trail is especially rocky so be prepared for that, and other stretched are covered in leaves that can be slick on the downhill. Otherwise lovely escape.
Fantastic! Recommend starting counter clockwise if you want water at the end. Loved the solitude.
Either direction is fine. Clockwise if you want the waterfall and creek towards the end, counter clockwise if you want mountain top views towards the end. Lots of slick areas, I recommend having walking sticks.
lots of people on the trail today. fantastic weather. great hike.
Great loop hike park at TV tower waterfalls on the last 2 miles back
Great trail a lot of great views had a blast once you get down by the waterfall and water super relaxing as long as if it’s not packed with people! A must do hike!!
Ran this trail on Sunday 8 March, but added 2 miles by running down Whitehouse Rd. a mile and back. Passed the trail head and made a right on Pine Mountain highway and cut into the White candle trail, doing the whole thing in reverse. Passed cascade falls and made it back in in 2 hours. All together 10 miles with a few stops for pictures and food/water. Awesome awesome trail in reverse order. Minimal traffic until I hit the back side at cascade falls. Beautiful day, especially liked the White Candle portion as the views were pretty cool to look at. The trail on that side of pine mountain highway was pretty cool too, at some points kinda like a little goat path with steep drop offs. Very nice had a great time.
