Visited today and was disappointed by how poorly the trails were maintained - several downed trees that seemed to be there a while across the pathway (roots attached and all) and no trail markers. A cargo train goes through the park and you can hear and see the interstate. The park also closes at 5 pm.

This is a beautiful place to visit. Lots of walking trails to explore with plenty of wildlife to see and a bit of history to learn. Great for families. Leashed pets are allowed on the nature trails.

We hiked this trail at a good time to see a lot of the butterflies in the area. There were places in the sun that if you stopped they would land on you! Lots of huge spiders about as well, none along the immediate path but my kids thought I was crazy for continuing on.

Beautiful, mostly shady trails with butterflies and deer all over! There was broken glass going up the gravel steps to Mcdougal Mound, so be careful there. Otherwise, the whole park is well kept.
