Nottely Reservoir Trail is a 2.5 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Blairsville, Georgia that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Great little trail with stop points and rest benches with beautiful views of the lake and quite a few spots to jump in the water for a swim if you desire! A few steady inclines on the Orange Trail but it was nice and shaded. Bring water and a towel if you plan on jumping in the water at the lake!
Good to exercise but not good for a natural forest experience. Almost completely artificial from the lake to the habitat.
Great trails to walk/jog! Thankful to see others obeying the dog leash law
The trail is a loop and is made up of colored sub trails. We started from green trail, to purple, to blue, to orange and back to purple to parking lot. The slope was easiest on green and we could see the lake view about 1 or 1.5 mile into it. The final trail of outer purple (along the street) has moderate slope up. However as the trail is wide and dry , the slopes feel easier to trek. It is a fun 1.5 - 2 hour family hike with young kids. There are plenty of benches for resting over looking the lake view. Great experience.
Trail was kind of boring even down by the water but my husband likes to fish so it is a convenient trail.
First 1/4 of Trail next to road. Easy to follow, good for beginner trail running. Heads down to reservoir lake which feels a bit like a Mars colony with the red soil. Pretty pine trees. It’s not a hike in the woods, it’s a lovely stroll on a nature trail in the country. V relaxing on a nice sunny day
Nice easy trail. This time of year, the water is really low in the lake. We were able to walk down the embankments to the current water level, just be cautious that closer to the water it can get a bit muddy. Overall, it’s very well marked and would be good for just about anyone!
Heavily trafficked. Well marked. Take a picture of the trail head map when you start. I rolled my ankle thrice today. This trail is well maintained but knotty roots in the path are a REAL danger. Portapotty at the western most parking area, but ALWAYS travel with TP.
Trail for all to come and enjoy. Benches also to take a few minutes off those feet.
great little trail that starts out easy and finishes moderate. gorgeous little lake with picnic table to sit on at about the point 8 mile. perfect for lunch
Meh.....it’s nice, but right by the highway so you have constant traffic noise. If you’re in the area, it’s ok, but I wouldn’t make it a destination.
