Great!

I took Nitro South with my 2 dogs. Easy hike with separate paths for bikes and hikers. Lots of nature, but no streams or views. Trail very well maintained.

best trail of the three we walk today. Good elevation not a slippery nice loop so you're not walking the same path.

Easy Trail to hike. We seemed to be the only hikers on the trail, there were a number of mountain bikers that were using the trail. Shady and cool.

We did approximately 6.2 miles by combining Jon’s Trail before lunch and Pickens out and Nitro North back after lunch. Well marked, mild to moderate with good scenery but minimal wildlife seen - be satisfied with rabbits, birds and a little snake. Check out the apiary area before you leave. Caution: no bathrooms except the great outdoors.

Okay, second review in as many days. We went back to mountain bike today and it was FUN! Even after a fairly heavy rain this morning, the trails were not *that* wet and mucky. We rode Jon's trail, Nitro Nix South and Charlie's Fast Loop, and it was just a lot of up and down single track that is VERY well maintained. *Some* rocks/roots, but literally nothing *technical* on the three trails we rode. Depending on your definition, we're "old" [52 & 60] (LOL!), and we managed well. I would go here again and do the other trails. Everything is VERY clearly marked, which is great. I can see why this is a popular biking/trail running area. You can string a lot of the tracks together to make as long of a ride/run as you want. Definitely leave a donation in the box that is there! There is a port-a-potty at the parking area which is also nice! Thanks to the Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land that help create these kinds of areas!

This will be my first review of this area, which seems to used mostly for mountain biking and trail running. We put together the Nitro North and Pickens trails. My husband and I were looking for a "chill" walk, and these trails were close to where we were staying and putting a couple of them together got us the 3ish miles we wanted. There is a map at the trailhead that was very detailed, so take a picture of it. The trails are very well marked, too. There is a lot of up and down and switchbacks, but not huge pulls in elevation and then steep descents. Additionally, the trail as used for mountain biking, while definitely single track, is not overly technical (which is good for me for when I go back!). A few roots, rocks, but nothing bad at all. This was a super pleasant walk and I am looking forward to going back to explore it by bike.

Running

Fun trails to run today. I like the environmental aspect of what the community here is working on. Look up the Talking Rock nature preserve. It's not just about trails, it's about conservation and what your can do on a local level to preserve and assist native species
