First two miles hella up hill. Last two miles are knee burners. Great workout. Great views. On a clear day the views are absolutely stunning. The ascent up blood mountain is pretty gnarly. Nice and challenging. Great prep for an AT hike. The trail doesn't summit slaughter mountain unless You go off trail. I recommend only if u have long pants on due to poison ivy. So I suggest doing it in the winter.

Enjoy. I do trails like these as much as possible and this was for sure a leg burner.

Ps. Always good to bring extra water. A thru hiker may need some at the summit.
