Beautiful well established trail through the woods around the lake. This trail is very well established and easy to traverse. There are a few small sections that include rocks and roots, but typically it is hard packed dirt or sidewalk. Any streams, water or troublesome areas are easily traversed by way of sturdily built bridges. 1.6 mile trail loop. 2 loops is 5K (3.1 Mi) and 4 loops is 10k (6.2 mi)
Murphey Candler Park offers multiple trails, with the primary trail established as a 2 mile loop that circles Murphey Candler Lake. The trail includes a variety of scenery including woodsy areas, bridges, wetlands, and passes near picnic pavilions. The main trail can be accessed from any of the parking areas.

wonderful easy stroll through the woods, along a serene lake, and over marshes with plenty of ducks, geese, and heron. a neighborhood gem perfect for any level for a taste of nature in the middle of suburbia.
Nice park. A few areas for children to play. Really nice seat swing.
Lots of traffic on weekends, did a couple of loops around the lake, enjoyed the wooded area and "wetlands" part. The rest of the trail is paved and busy, just like a regular city park. It would make a nice 45 min stroll for the whole family to walk that dinner off or take a dog out.
For the most part it was easy, some parts were narrow and muddy but all around a nice easy walk in the woods.
I love this trail for mountain biking. Most people use this trails for hiking, but it’s a really good trail for get some conditions into the mountain bike again.
Nice urban trail to take dogs. We went about 8:30 and by the time we left it was getting a lot more crowded. Everyone social distancing, lightly traveled at the time we arrived. Some roots and dips in the path, but the tree canopy is worth it. I’m pretty apt to trip, so I just had to watch the path - came through it like a champ. It’s super close to us, so we will definitely revisit.
First inner city hike while tracking route with AllTrails. Area was peaceful enough though most of North Fork Nancy Creek looks like it had dried up long ago.Saw kids playing in the water but with all the sewer manholes throughout the area I would not think it wise to let my child in the water.
