Beautiful hike through the mountains. This hike is definitely worthy of its hard rating. They way up is very steep at times with lots of rocks and roots to climb over, but the view at the top is well worth the climb.

It was a really good trial! Some steep and rocky spots but the view at the top was totally worth it! Pretty much all of it is in the shade, definitely helps with the heat! I highly recommend this trail, but they weren’t kidding when they said it was a hard one!

Short but strenuous hike to the top. You won’t get lost on your hike but it feels like there are so many different ways up from user created trails. Bring water because whatever spring was there doesn’t seem to be putting out water anymore. If you can manage the weight, camping at the top is awesome.

Beautiful views at the top and a lovely forest. Over-groomed trail and crowded.

This was a really fun trail. Difficult but not that bad and the views at the top are worth it. I took my dog without our knowing the terrain and he beat up his paws pretty bad. We’ve never done anything like that before. I would only bring experienced dogs even though it says dog friendly. And would definitely recommend dog boots.

I happened to hike this trail for the first time on a day with 99% humidity and a temp of 89 by 10am. Had the humidity been lower, I would rate this a more intermediate hike for a fit person/avid hiker. As it was, it was challenging but extremely rewarding. Take lots of water and go early! We got there at 6:30a.m. and by the time we left, it was packed. I have asthma and had to stop some to take my inhaler/let my oxygen regulate because of the thickness of the air. For reference, I hike often (2-3 times per week) and rarely need my inhaler at all (only used it once on Deer Mountain in the Rockies last summer). The road to get to the parking lot is rough, but not impassable in a sedan. Just go slow and use caution. The views are nothing short of breathtaking. I can’t wait to go back!

Definitely a must do hike! Nice elevation change on the way up for a good leg/lung burn. The views at the top are beautiful. Distance was closer to 6 miles. Make sure you explore all of the trail at the top to get the different views. Did this hike on a Friday, got there around 10am and the crowd wasn’t bad. Started getting crowded as I was coming down around noon.

Definitely read other reviews about the road leading to the parking lot. It is very rough and a small car with small wheels may have trouble. I have a truck so it wasn't a problem. And there was way more parking than I thought there would be. Really plenty of parking. The trail is very rocky and at first I thought the hike up was moderate but then the 2nd mile was much more difficult. The path is a mix of rocky at times, then smooth at times. But when you get to the summit, there are lots of views along the west side of the mountain, with lots of bluffs to sit and relax. Speaking of that...to the soccer mom Karen and two guys with her that decided to sit literally 2 feet from me while I was eating my lunch...what the hell is wrong with you? There are literally tons of places to sit and relax and take in the views. And this trio literally picked two feet from me. No wonder COVID is spreading. Hopefully they got the hint when I packed up and left but probably not. Anyway, definitely one of best hikes for scenic views and if you are into camping, tons of places to camp. At the summit there is an open field with lots of camping areas that I may one day bring my telescope and camp out.

Road up is very bad so a small car would be tough to go up. We were in a truck so no problem The trail is great. Very rocky. Starts pretty easy and then starts up! 2.1 miles up but to get to the vista go further up on the trail and it ends up at 2.5 Get there early as more people start up around 9:30-10. We started at 7:30 and were on our own Thoroughly enjoyed it!

THE MOST AMAZING TRAIL WITH RHE MOST REWARDING VIEWS. I’m an intermediate hiker and definitely felt this one going up. I would plan for 5.5 miles, not the 4.2 they mention. It’s probably 1.5 hours up and 1 down for intermediate hikers. Road to get in is bumpy but not impossible with a sedan. And it’s short. Just drive slowly. But the view from the top...it is worth every minute on this hike. Plan to go early as it’s cooler and less busy. We were coming down around 11am and it was getting slammed. No fun to be up there with crowds.

Great trail. Lots of people with their dogs. Heavily wooded trail, provides shade during the heat. Worth the view at the end!
