Nice wide, hard packed trail with a ton of educational posts and benches along the way. Cute little observation area at about the halfway mark that was perfect for us to take a 5 minute break and have a snack. We saw no wildlife until we returned to the main area of the park and the springs... lots of turtles and fish in the pond there and then a couple of gators and water birds along the river heading down towards the road. The Breastworks and fort were a little underwhelming but the history was interesting and I'd say the side excursion on this hike is worth it if you're into that... otherwise the unshaded trek to get to that part of the trail isn't really worth it IMHO. Overall though... not a bad little 5 miler.

I only walked a potion of this trail, but it and the park are very well maintained. Lots of wildlife and alligators in the ponds.

I wouldn’t drive here to ride it but if staying here ride it like you stole it. First rode it on my X bike (trigger 33s tubeless mounted) which was fun then switch grabbed mtn bike n let it rip.

I enjoyed these trails. Throughout most of the trails, there is plenty of room to hike side-by-side or pass others. There is some fascinating kiosks about the history of Camp Lawton near the earthworks; also, you can visit a historical display set up near the state park visitors' center.

A little bit of history and a wonderful nature hike! I didn’t think I would see so much here, beautiful little park. I saw it. woodpecker in the first 10 minutes of being here. Then there were alligators, turtles and fish swimming in the spring. Also saw a snake, anoles, heard and saw several types of song birds, an osprey, and a hawk. Wildflowers and trees were in bloom. The trails had a lot of tree roots sticking up, so watch for them. Overall the trails were real easy to navigate. Only one hill to go up, flat or sloping most of the rest of the hike. Bikers do use the Lime Sink Trail. Hardly anyone on the trails, made for a very peaceful hike!

Great photo opportunities! Lots of wildlife, alligators, snakes, turtles, birds! The wooden boardwalk and wooden bridge allows for more beautiful photo opps. The trail was easy. The camp grounds look nice. Canoeing, kayaking, and biking available also. I would definitely plan a camping trip here.

Fun campground for family. They have a boardwalk that goes by a massive spring that has a ton of turtles the kids love to watch and you can see the occasional baby alligator sunning itself. Kids never tire of going and running a long the trails there.
