I would give this the worst rating when it comes to maintenance. fallen trees, blocked trails, unmarked trails......

Fallen tree on one of the trails so you have to go thru a muddy path to get to the other side. You will cross parts of the Emory campus which requires mask. Overall, well traveled and easy hike. Few low waterfalls and sand areas a long the way.

Very nice trail by the creek. Many interesting structures along the trail. Traffic was quite high though, given the narrow pathway in some places. I would guess most people walking / running there were students of Emory Univ., since it was so close to it.

HikingGreat!

Nice, flat, extremely well kept trail. Lots of families on the trail (not sure bc it’s on Emory’s campus or bc of Labor Day), so if you want to go less crowded, I’d do earlier than 9:30am. Google map Hahn Woods for parking.

Always a pleasant time at Lullwater. People today were great about socially distancing and wearing masks.

Pipe over water for a portion so adapted to it and went on the spur trail instead.

As far as trails inside the perimeter go this one is pretty good, some cool man made structures along the way. At the end of the day its Decatur though, it only offers so much. Nonetheless this one is 10 min from where I live so I will be back.

A very scenic and lovely place hidden in Emory's Clairmont campus. Most of the loop is unpaved except for the section near the Candler Lake but it's well maintained and labelled. Parking is free in Clifton School and Starvine Deck on weekends and after 5 on weekdays. It's also possible to park near the main campus/University Hospital and access through the gate on Clifton Road. Although the park is only for Emory's staff and students, this rule is never enforced so you'll see many local residents there. When most students are gone during the pandemic, the park itself is much quieter now.

Great running trail especially if you are here to run early in the morning. Park at the Hahn Woods and take the trail in the woods connecting Lullwater Preserve, or take the road to get there. A short 0.6-1 mile walk/run either way. Wish there was a parking availability closer.

Mostly dirt trails along river. One really long suspension bridge that wobbles when you walk on it. One metal pipe crossing so dog had to swim/leap across stream. From parking plus entire trail we recorded over 4 miles. Next time look for Hahn Woods parking rather than Emory Campus parking.

So sad to see such neglected and sloppy trail... surprised how unkempt it was... Paved parts were ok but the actual trail very disappointing...

Running

Great trail for a walk or run (definitely not a hike). Some paved, some wooded trail, a cool suspension bridge, plus a lake and waterfall. Close to Emory, but on certain parts of the trail you feel like you’re in the middle of the woods. Perfect for a midweek “getaway” since it’s so easily accessible.
