Smithgall Woods State Park did a great job designing this trail with a breathtaking view of Mount Yonah.

Easy trail with lots of variety. Mtn laurel, Rhododendron , Beautiful view of Mt Yonah, nice new bench there to enjoy the view, Several crossings of a little stream on short bridges.

BASIC AND SIMPLY WITH A SMALL VIEWING POINT OF THE MOUNTAINS. I DID THIS TRAIL BECAUSE I HAD 2 HOURS TO KILL BEFORE DARK AND FOR A NATURE TRAIL IT HAD NO INFORMATION SIGNS UP JUST AT THE ONE SCENIC SPOT. DON'T DRIVE OUT OF YOUR WAY TO GO HERE. MAYBE SINCE I CAME HERE IN JANUARY THEY DON'T REALLY LOOK AFTER THE TRAIL. MAYBE DURING THE TOURIST SEASON ITS BETTER

Nice trail, easy but with lots of roots. Great view on Mt. Yonah.

I agree with some here. It was not a challenging trail but would probably rate it moderate for inexperience hikers.

Short hike that is dog friendly. We do this one often when time is an issue. Has a good view of Mt Yonah and a few other mountains in the southern Appalachia line.

Very uphill, would not recommend for anyone not well in shape. The view is very pretty from the top, but the trail is also not marked well to find.

Good trail, state park keeps trail clear.

Really cool view of the blue ridge mountains about halfway through. I would warn that the trail was more towards moderate difficulty given the inclines/declines (I have a bad knee but was able to manage with trekking poles. Not sure I would’ve made it without them).

If you have knee or hip issues this is not the trail for you. The scenic overlook is beautiful, but there are steep parts going up and down.

If you want a 2 mile easy trail, this one is for you. The vista at the top has a fantastic view of Mtn Yonah. The trail is shady. We heard lots of birds.

Great trail, with great views. Unfortunately, I went on a rainy day and all I got was some great views of fog, but still a cool experience. It had rained a lot so the trail was very muddy.

Beautiful, well-maintained trail. Moderate elevation changes-- enough so you feel like you did something but not so difficult you need to be in perfect shape. Gorgeous forest and amazing view of Yonah Mountain. Make sure to go into the visitors center and get a parking permit

This trail is surrounded by mountain ranges and opens up to a breath taking view of Mount Yonah. I would take tracking poles there is a lot of elevation
