Came here because my dog loves water, and it was perfect for him. Good place for a quick walk or hike. Not real scenic.

Beautiful day out, trail isn’t super well marked so we went off grid a lot but it was still pretty. Very flat.

This was actually 5.5 miles. I got on the trail at the Bartram Trailhead on Lake Springs Rd. The 3 mile loop from there was pretty basic woodsy, no scenic views. The second loop went through Lake Springs Rex area on roads and paved paths that ran behind the picnic areas so this part wasn’t very interesting. I would recommend the first loop and then jump on the Bartram trail if you want to pick up a few more miles.

This trail *is* accessible from outside the park. There is a small parking area with an outhouse and information board. From there, you'd cross the road to get on the trail. Right now, I would say don't bother with the upper section of the loop, just stick to the lower section. I'd even go so far as to say instead of hiking it as a loop, hike it as an out-and-back on the water side to avoid the more heavily cleared areas. Was not thrilled with this trail as it is right now :( The bench was the high point. Nice view.

Trail is actually OPEN but the park is closed. Trailhead is on the left hand side of the entrance road before you reach the park entrance. This trail is no where near Fort Gordon, as the description says. The trail is inside Lake Springs Park which is on Lake Thurmond (Clark’s Hill Lake, for the locals) near the dam. Trailhead is a little tricky since there has been some clearing of trees. But markers are visible.

Great spot to camp. Really enjoyed the view of the lake and the fishing even though there weren't many bites.

I love Clark's Hill lake! My friends and I hang out there a lot. Mostly camping, fishing, and boating.
