Nice 11 mile hike, packed lunch and had it by the visitors center at the bottom of the mountain. For a more strenuous hike start with the west loop and catch the east loop coming back.

Went northbound on westernmost trail then south over the mountain. That path is 11.9 miles. Good mix of pasture, forest, and mountain hiking. Bring your water...it's hot hot hot out there this time of year.

Great trail. The Cheatham Hill Rd parking area will fill up. Arrived at 7:00 am though, and there was plenty of parking. Modified this one a bit by following the Old John Ward Trail at the beginning before joining this route on the Cease Fire Trail then returning via Cease Fire and Kolb Farm Loop. The descent on the Little Kennesaw and Pigeon Hill trails can be a bit technical, so watch your footing especially if you're running

Did this hike on May 31 2020 and again on June 06 2020 - Used it to I used it to break in my new hiking boots. Very pretty trail, not crowded. There were some areas where it isn't marked as well as it could be. That being said there were a handful of people on the trail that were very familiar with it and told us exactly where to turn. It's a good local hike- I just perfer the northern areas.

Trail reopened but the visitors center & restrooms still closed. Good combination of flatter trail across meadows and more mountainous terrain around Pigeon Hill - BEAUTIFUL wildflowers this time of year!! I’d recommend going left at the split toward Pigeon Hill first, as it is quite steep and would be difficult to come down.

This is great if you want a challenge. It took me 5 hours and it’s a great uphill workout. Great well maintained paths. Keep your eye on your map so you don’t head off this exact trail. Pigeon hill is so cool. Hit that on the way out as it’s pretty steep and rocky. I imagine coming down that way could be dangerous. I loved this hike

Great trail. We did the full loop, and it was a nice variety of uphill, downhill, climbing over some boulders, sightseeing, and picnic spots. This and their website says it’s an 11mi trail, but both of our activity trackers said it was closer to 14, and we didn’t wander off the trail. Great workout, would like to go back when the trees have leaves.

good weekend destination to put in some miles and work through some elevation. Follow the recommendation to start on the west side for a greater challenge during the climb. Also know what conditions particularly in the low-lying areas where the ground is subject to run off. Again great Trail to put in mileage. We'll see a lot of people particularly in the area where tourist make their way to the top of the mountain.

Torn between a 3 and 4 on this trail. Went with 4 star because of the Civil War history angle. This trail is moderate to me. I did it in the opposite direction as depicted and the trek from visitor center to Kennesaw Mountain is difficult but the rest varies from easy to moderate. Much is on wide gravel roads but the single track sections are nice. Beautiful Nov afternoon, no bugs. Nice hike with views of Atlanta and historical interest.

So I accidentally picked the east west loop and hiked the 10.7 mile loop. Like Bob Ross says, "it was a happy little mistake." The views from the top of the mountain were amazing. There were plenty of signs to read and learn about the history that occurred on the mountain side. The trail was well marked and just enough people to see some one every 30 to 40 mins. Glad I walked the trail and can't wait to do it again next year. I highly recommend this hike.

I found the first 7-8 miles of relatively flat ground to be kinda boring. If I were gonna do it again, I’d probably go up and over the mountain on both out and back. Saw some deer that were very comfortable with humans. Got within 10 feet of one. Saw an eastern bluebird, a lizard, and a formation of fighter jets from dobbins fly over ahead. The civil war history halfway through this hike was great. Would strongly recommend checking out the Illinois monument.

I've hiked several of the trails that comprise Kennesaw Mountain and have found that each has a charm of their own. The paved road trail has the most stunning views of the bunch, but the nature trail will definitely test your endurance and hiking skills. The occasional deer sighting breaks up an otherwise strenuous trek up the mountain! The various crisscrossing trails are far less difficult and great for beginners! I love this place for both its beauty and its history!

A solid hike with lots of activity. The trail could use work in a few sections due to all of the hikers. It is a great view of Atlanta from the top.

Great hike! We started with the mountains first, then finished with the rest of the loop. Only issue is the section between Dallas Hwy and Noses Creek. It is a gravel road, not a trail, and has very large gravel that is loose. Was not comfortable to hike on and you can easily slip on the down hill portions. If hiking on the weekend, you have to get there when the gates open, or you can add a mile or more to your hike from the overflow lots.

Trail is in great shape and easy to follow with only one drowned tree which was easy to get around. It is strenuous is parts but worth the effort. We saw 12 deer and a hawk.
