Indian Seats Trail Loop is a 3.2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Cumming, Georgia that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October.
Pretty simple trail, easy parking and paths, and the view up top is beautiful!
I’ve been here several times over the years. The trail markings haven’t been kept up so the loops can be A little confusing if you don’t keep looking at the little maps. I’m sad they don’t technically allow dogs anymore but you still see people with them from time to time. The big visitor in trance can make the trail loop a bit longer without backtracking at all however I still prefer parking at the smaller back entrance as it’s not so crowded and you run into people a little less until you get to the actual Indian seats which always has a ton of people.
If you park at the visitor center the trail up to Indian seat is definitely a little more difficult. On a scale from 1 to 5 my hiking experience is a four and I would rate this trail is not difficult at all. I arrive at 8:30 AM on Friday morning and there was three people I ran into on the trail. I completed the full circuit and by the time I go back to my car at 9:20 there was 15 people in the parking lot. Be warned
Good trail, a little confusing between trails but my children and I enjoyed a lot.
Lovely day to hike. Trail dry and in good condition. Not too many on the trail since it’s a weekday.
great path. clear paths, great views. not overcrowded, only negative is no dogs, but that is very minor
the weather was perfect today but it's a little early in the season so all the trees are still bare and it's not quite as pretty as it probably will be in a few weeks. plenty of parking. the trail was well marked and pretty well maintained. a little rocky in some spots. we went clockwise and the ascent was a decent challenge. the view at the top was really nice. i was prepared for this trail to be pretty crowded but it wasn't too bad. i saw someone posted a picture of a waterfall but we didn't see anything like that at all.
Training hike with Ultimate Hike. 5 miles around the mountainside trail. Then up to Indian seats for lunch. Then back around the Mountain side trail.
Mountainside is rocky. Great hike. Go early to get the trail by yourself.
Good. Saw several masks on the trail. More people hiking at this time of day.
This is an awesome trail. The trail is easily marked with blazes and signs. For some reason AllTrails says that the elevation for this trail is only 479ft, however according to my trail recording (on AllTrails), this trail is easily double that.
Nice, clean. Moderate traffic for a weekday morning. View from top is pretty awesome.
Awesome, easy, well marked trail with easy to follow connector trails. Enough elevation gain for a half decent work out.. A little crowded for my liking, but I found some peaceful stretches. I'm looking forward to going back for the longer loops across the street. The recording is off because it was paused for the first quarter mile.
