This is a short hiking trail that leads down to two large waterfalls and a swimming hole. The trail is at times steep but short. There are stairs in a few places. There a two waterfalls. The bottom fall is 0.25 miles from the parking lot and the top fall is another 0.2 miles. The one at the top is one of the most beautiful you will find in Georgia. The falls drop into an exotic blue, green lagoon. There is a wooden deck, but you can go around and get closer. Be careful though!

Good place. The hard part was getting there going thru the river since it had rained a lot. Will go back in the summer for sure

The trail was very wet and muddy. the falls were nice especially the upper falls. You can get very close to the water here. We will have to come back when the rhododendron are blooming as they are full of buds and the falls are covered in them. The road in is very narrow, single car in most places, so go slow.

Hard to get to - had to drive on a very narrow, high cliff road. wish the trail itself was longer but the terrain was fun and we liked being able to see the falls from different elevations.

Not worth the one-lane windy 2.3 mile drive to the trail. And the fall is “meh” ..... places where the trail is really muddy and slippery.

Came in off hwy 348 and Hatchet. Thankfully we were in the Yukon and not my little car; have to cross two creeks. Had so much fun! If you don’t have high clearance, stick with the hwy 129 entrance. Water flow was amazing! Wowed my 12 year old, and that’s a hard thing to do!

Lovely little hike that makes a great swimming hole in the summer. Can be hard to get to and is off the beaten path.

A good place to take a dip in the summer.

As others have mentioned, if you enter Helton Creek Rd from 348, be prepared to drive through 6' of water in two different spots. The trail was short and easy and the waterfalls are amazing; the second one has a pool of water waste deep, perfect to take a dip in.

stop here 9-26-17. there is two ways to get here. the way the gps will bring you is on these back roads and you'll have to drive through a stream. the other way is better. only ten minutes from Vogel State Park, 405 Vogel State Park Rd, Blairsville, GA 30512. take gainesville highway to helton creek road on your left. you drive through a very cool neighborhood (PLEASE DRIVE SLOW) respect their homes. the road will become a dirt road but stay on it . because you are driving slow it will take you about 20 minutes to get there. you'll start second guessing yourself but drive slow and enjoy the drive and you'll be at the parking area on your right. this is a wonderful falls. after good rains the water will be strong. enjoy your stay

We visited on Monday, August 12th, And there were maybe eight other people there in the middle of the day at the same time. The gravel road to the trailhead was driveable with pretty much any vehicle. We didn't have to cross over any water, and 4 wheel drive was unnecessary. parking was free. I don't think you could get lost on the trail if you tried. It's quick, easy hike, worth doing if you are going to Vogel State Park anyway. We saw more butterflies than anywhere in my life!

We were not fans of this trail or the falls. The road to the falls was super narrow and you have to Ford 2 rivers and back up to allow others to pass. Go via 19 only and it is still hairy. Parking was zilch. There were hornets on the landing. The swimming was fun but muddy to get there. I think the road is too long just for this.

Make sure and visit this waterfall if you happen to be at Vogel State Park. Go all the way to the top! Beautiful!

Beautiful waterfall! I fell through the wooden deck at the end of the tail because the wood was very rotten and hurt my leg pretty bad. but the trip was worth it. :)

A waterfall that the whole family can go to. Very minimal walk to the falls, just requires going down/up some stairs and is located right off the road. One great thing about this falls is the swimming hole at the bottom, being your suit and go for a dip.

Very short trail to a waterfall and swimming hole. BUT limited parking. Went on Saturday after July 4th and everyone was having to get out to direct people to places they could squeeze in . Service rode is a little hectic and a nail bitter of a ride. 2wd Chevy truck made it fine though. .

The falls are very nice, but way too many people in June 2019. Would like to go back in the winter and hopefully less people.

very nice little trail however the platform at the top was a bit ratty so it was a little more work to wrangle the kids. be sure to go to the top and the bottom!
