You can’t even do the trail map listed here because half the park is closed due to construction. Tried to walk around and possibly jump back on, but literally half the park and trails are cut off from public access.

A little overgrown and unkempt but a nice path for running with lots of people walking dogs and families hanging out. Construction on the East side makes the path wonky.

We hike this trail about every 6 months as it is about 5 mins from our house. nice loop trail that starts at parking area at 53 bridge, runs parallel to creek (amicalola) then turns to the left at or near edge of world (rapids) nice place to sit on the rocks in the middle of the river. (during low flow) trail switches back several times and loops around two hills. eat lunch at boy scout picnic table approx half way. good changes in scenery and a view of springer mountain at approx 75% way thru hike. follows short portion of wider trail thru dove field area and then winds down towards 53 again just east of where you parked. ( note parks/forestry have been working on parking area for last two months (may 2012) but there is still ample parking just not off 53. note, you will have approx 300-400 yds along 53 where you should watch your kids as 53 has traffic that comes close./ if you choose to come out just a bit East. nice hike.
