Steady uphill walk. Great views. Some trail maintenance needed

difficult, but gets easier the more you do it. It starts off easy but that changes quickly. Pace yourself on the way up and down. it's like you're going straight up, so on the way down it's straight down. The view is beautiful at the top. There's an old war grave/memorial which is what the Disney Trail was named after. Once you pass it you come to almost like an outdoor church area with benches and a podium. It is beautiful! Hard but worth it! Trails are not smoothed out or anything like that. There are rocks, roots, dips etc.

Dangerous even for seasoned hikers. Trail is not maintained.

When they say straight up they mean straight up. If you do not exercise regularly this is a very hard trail. Make sure to bring lots of water so you don’t get dehydrated because I was dripping sweat. Absolutely stunning view!

Trail is steep in some areas from natural erosion. Very pretty views. Definitely worth the outing!

This was a difficult hike but it's also short with some really good views on the top. I would have gave it 4 stars but the place is pretty trashed out. There was trash everywhere!

trail is a short but steep scenic hike. I've done lots of hiking and this a challenging hike, but short. steep at sections with rocks and roots....plenty of opportunity to roll an ankle, etc.
But if you are in decent shape it shouldn't be a problem.
scenic vista from top.
I prefer more secluded trails, but easily acceptable and close to Chattanooga.

This trail for the length is pretty difficult. For someone in their twenties and one in their forties, we both struggled; luckily there is plenty of rock to take a break. Loved the trail and views. Worth the work!

Trail chasming from improper use where others are “shortcutting” instead of using switchbacks. Overall a decent walk - some nice spots - great sunsets. Also makes nice moonlit hikes - easy to get to - but trail starts at state patrol barracks which is 2/10 mile away from church parking. National Historic and State Historic plagues detailing Flooded Gap, Defense of Dalton and Atlanta Campaign are found at state patrol barracks parking.

This trail was just ok. It’s nowhere near as strenuous as other reviews make it out to be. If you’re somewhat fit you can easily make it to the top. It starts out flat but quickly changes to a very steep incline. We stopped a few times to catch our breath but it didn’t take more than 30 minutes to get to the top. There is some erosion towards the top and some fallen trees and branches that hang over the trail but I don’t think that was the proper trail. People have made new paths to avoid the switchbacks. Stick to the trail people. The view isn’t that spectacular at the top but the hike up is a good quick workout so I wasn’t mad. There is a service road if you keep walking past the little benches and podium. I’ve heard it leads somewhere close to Dalton State.

Fun trail. Steep and quick. Starts off easy, but when u hit the steps!!! Get ready. Nice view at the top. Once you get to the amphitheater it’s really it as far as view...trail continues a bit, but eventually turns into a vehicle access road, don’t know where that ends up, would be fun if ur a runner.

Very steep!! It’s short but will kick your butt! The view at the top is nice- not totally mountainous. Not sure if I’d do it again but I am glad that I did it. Worth at least once!

This use to be a 5 star trail. Unexperienced hikers have destroyed the switchbacks and have made shortcuts, which have led to terrible erosion. There also seems to be a need to educate the public on the Leave No Trace or (LNT) practice. Please pack your trash out. I'm tired of seeing bottles, candy wrappers, etc. among this trail. Also, the amount of vandalism on this trail is horrific. No one cares if you're in love or you were there, so there's no need to put your name on anything along this trail. We aren't some primitive, cave dwelling, knuckle draggers, so don't act like it. It's sad that I had to give this sort of review but it has to be said. It's disgraceful and disappointing that the human race is so barbaric and has no respect for the beauty of nature. If you don't want to adhere to hiking ethics, it's very simple. ....stay home!

Si usted no quiere adherirse

Great hike. Moderately difficult.

A very enjoyable trail overall. Not much to see once you are at the top but the climb more than makes up for it. Do not be put off because it says that it's strenuous. It is manageable for people of average fit and not as strenuous as described. Great short trail if you have only a little time!

A fairly difficult trail to ascend. A beautiful scenic view once one makes the climb. A 1-2 hour round trip journey. Just FYI.... Trail head is essentially in the church parking lot... Close to the Georgia State Trooper office.

BEHIND "FIRST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE" CHURCH UP TO LEFT OF "TIPTON FAMILY LIFE CENTER!"

Sign says 2.4miles (not 1.5). Really good uphill hike with views (I wish views were more mountains and less highways etc), overall really good hike. Was slick when it started raining, but would do it again! I'm sweating!!!

My wife and I hike this mountain today. Her thoughts of this hike is it's very rigorous. The trail is narrow. As we moved toward the top it became very rocky. This mountains requires a lot of focus. We will do it again at some point. Get ready to climb some rocks

Great trail. Difficult but worth the effort. highly recomended. The directions are vague. The trailhead is located behind the Dalton First Church of the Nazarene. Drive into there parking lot up the hill and behind the building.

Trying to hike this mountain at a fast pace will have you so winded if you haven't hiked in a while or aren't use to hard cardio. My advise is to take it light. It was a beautiful, off beat, slick, rocky trail but worth it in the end. I wanted to kill my friends who took me. I will visit it again because I love a challenge.

Great trail! Pretty steep, but worth the effort. And the view at the top is well worth the climb.
