Washed out in many places and a lot of litter for an Environmental Center...

Could definitely use more directional trail markings.

Ok hike through the woods. Partly blocked by down tree in one area. Some rather steep declines.

The trail to the Rock Shelter is off the GEHC Stream Ecology Trail, near the North Pavilion. This recording measures distance to the Rock Shelter from the Stream Ecology trailhead and not round-trip.

Agree that the overall length of the trail prevents its steep inclines from giving it a “moderate” rating. Many roots and rocks. I’m glad I had the App running as not all trail junctions were marked, and the fallen leaves made the trail hard to see in places.

Very nice short loop. A couple sharp inclines but overall easy because of length.
