Stick to the Gahuti trail and stay off 302...it was next to the road and not as scenic.
Well marked. Encountered very few people... which is my favorite part. Sections of this trail can be hard. I’m looking forward to backpacking one weekend.
nice trail. narrow at times. enjoyed cool springs to gahuti. 302, not so much. wasnt bad, just not exciting
nice hike and challenging rock stairs. To avoid going up stairs stay to the left starting out. then you come down rock stairs instead.
I loved it and it had some stunning views and it was a peaceful beautiful forest, it was very very rocky and steep in a few areas so watch your step, some parts were overgrown but not so much that it was inconvenient. There are a lot of bugs so bring repellent.
Good hike, not too difficult. Part of the trail is very narrow and overgrown. Saw a bear.
Did the Gahuti Loop trail - 90 degrees but a breeze was blowing. Beautiful views from overlooks.
Didn’t do the whole trail due to my back was bothering me. What we did was great. Completed about half of the trail. It has some challenging inclines. A pretty rocky trail so you have to watch your step. The part we did didn’t have any views. It had been dry for a while and the creeks were dried up. I’m sure in the spring probably a prettier hike. Hope to do the rest in a couple of days.
Did this one with my wife back in May 2019. Nice state park but we didn't like that trail all that much. Maybe in another season it would have been more to our liking. The only view we had was just a hundred feet from the trailhead. The rest of the trail was uninspiring. Sorry that's my view and I hardly if ever write a negative review. The highlight of our hike (and it was a good one) is that we ran across a bear on the trail at the extreme southern end of the trail. He/she took off immediately and we were glad it was in the opposite direction from us.
