We started on the blue trail and it was a killer so if you are beginning...DO NOT take it. We found our way off and followed yellow trail and it was much better...still had some hills and steep downs but more doable. If you have small children or ones who aren’t confident on bikes...I wouldn’t recommend it. Overall it was a great ride and will be better now that we know what we are in for! It was a great whole body workout!!!

Prepare to pay $5 parking (cash or card). Trail winded around lake for beautiful scenery (we did the yellow inner loop, about 7 miles). Loved discovering that there are also yurts for rent and a beach, so I’ll likely come back.

Gorgeous trail! Still open as of 5/6/20. We were some of the only people wearing masks, so stay safe people!!! You have to pay $5 cash to park. Bathrooms at the visitor center. Yellow trail blazes well marked around lake, but take the orange when it splits to have the longer 6.3 mile hike around the lake. Wide enough for 2 people to walk side by side but again, be considerate! If you are in a couple or group, then move to the side and stay 6 feet apart! It was SO BEAUTIFUL! So many trees, lake views, wildlife, blue herons, flowers...this hike once a week is keeping us sane. Highly recommended!!!

Nice trail mostly shaded and with some pretty lake views. Trail is clearly marked and according to my Fitbit linger than the 5.9 miles listed on this app. The trail is mostly flat but there are a few inclines.

My Fitbit said this was 7.5 miles so be forewarned! It is a very nice walk with easy elevation changes since you are “mostly” just going around the lake. Bikers also use this trail.

This is an old trail. It has been redone. There were several places that we couldn’t continue or were no longer used. Several places with no shade.

Fantastic trail system. Well kept and marked well. Beautiful lake views and hill paths. Many benches and picnic benches, pavilions and grills. Fairly easy with some minor hills.

This is a really pleasant walk around the way. It comes in closer to 7 miles, but with only a few very mild elevations. If I were to do it again I would recommend going clockwise around the lake. The first couple miles in that direction have more roads, campgrounds, and civilization. Once you get past that, and get over the dam it becomes very serene with the lake almost constantly in view.I would recommend taking a detour up to see the Hill family cemetery. You can see it easily on the trail map where the yellow and blue trails almost touch.
