Great Fall hike (except for the naked trees). Easy hike for families and us senior folks.

Highly trafficked loop lots of dogs too. Views of the lake entire loop. Need to pay $5 to enter the park so make sure you have some cash on hand

More of a walk than a hike, but a nice, shaded, quiet walk around the lake. Pleasant water views and lots of butterflies.

Did this with the wife, kids, and dogs! Was really nice, and the boys got to swim at the “beach” when we finished the loop.

It’s by no means backcountry, but it’s a pleasant stroll around the water. Crowds at the swimming and camping area are to be expected.

Walking

My husband and I took our kids (11,9, and 1) for a nice nature walk. We had never been on this trail but we really enjoyed it! there were a few uphill bits but nothing major. It was a beautiful walk and we'll definitely be back!

We visited on 10/14/19. The trail was well-maintained, wide, and easy to follow. It's mostly crushed gravel--very few roots/rocks/impediments. Of all the trails we did at Fort Mountain Park, this was definitely the easiest. The lake is nice, and there are multiple places around it to have a picnic.

Pretty walk around the lake - very flat. Crowded by the beach but very pretty around the back side. Easy walk if you just want to get outside for a bit
