Pulled in the small, empty parking area at 8:30 on a Wednesday morning. Very quickly several other vehicles arrived, and the lot was overflowing. A mountain biking club was meeting up. My friend and I didn't expect to have to dodge mountain bikes while hiking. And we didn't! We hiked 5.5 miles before even seeing one mountain bike (or even another hiker). It wasn't until the last 2.5 miles that we had an occasional bike pass us. These trails are well maintained and well marked. Highly recommend getting a trail map from Cloudland Visitor Center before going. There's a $5 parking fee. No attendance on duty, so bring exact change for the box.

This is the reason we mountain bike. Flow is an understatement. All the diamond trails are crazy fun. I actually heard some bikers woohooing. Super maintained. There are 2 trails that are worth riding that are in the opposite direction of 5 points hogsback north and hogsback south. One of them you can hit out of the 5 points parking lot, the other you have to hit the connector and its a short ride. Theres a 5 dollar fee for daily parking but well worth it if you like to ride with a smile on your face. If you pay at the rangers gate they’ll give you a map. Dont park at the CCT trail head if you want to hit 5 points. Its a long ride and you want to be fresh for 5 points. Georgia has definitely nailed it.
