Getting There

Short Paved Loop in Red Top Mountain State Park that is ADA accessible and a nice stroll around the lake. There are a few historic buildings and a cabin from 1869 on the loop. Paved easy route that is good for the whole family. The trail starts at the park office and follows the shore of Lake Allatoona. The trail is ADA accessible for the entire length. Plenty of benches and tables along the route. There is an 1869 Cabin and some other buildings on the loop. They hold events and demonstrations at the various buildings from time to time. It is a nice stroll to just sit on a bench and enjoy the lake.

Plenty of Parking at the Park Office, though there is a fee required due to it being a state park. There are restrooms on site at the park office.

Go into Red top Mountain State Park and head towards the Lodge/Park Office. The trailhead is on the backside of the Park office parking lot and is next to the sweet gum trail.

The trail was in really great conditions with many places to stop and sit down on a bench. My 2 year old was able to hike it no problem.

Did something crazy and hiked every trail at Red Top one Sunday. This review will cover the entire experience. Well marked, nicely maintained, and surprisingly quiet considering how popular it is. The views were gorgeous and there is enough of a variety in the trails to really give you a workout. Great place to train for more strenuous hikes and events.

Nice paved trail. Would be great for families with kids since it's a very easy trail and has a play area along the way. There are loads of benches and picnic tables nearby. Nice views of the lake too!

We stopped here on a whim to stretch our legs after a long haul car ride. We stopped pretty early so we only experienced one other couple and a lady with 3 dogs on the trail. I was nice but nothing to write home about: not the mountainous hike you'd expect.

Small ADA .75 mile Loop paved trail from the visitor center of red top mountain state park. It wanders around the lake and has a small cabin/blacksmith/and a few other small buildings. It is pretty crowded sometimes, but has alot of nice benches and some tables. If you have small kids/elderly/or just want to take a small stroll around the lake it is nice. If you are looking for secluded mountain wilderness this is not a trail I would recommend.
