Getting There

A nature trail loop used for walking. The main loop encircles the preserve and is a wide and easy path. There is a viewing and sitting platform overlooking the creek and tiny waterfall. There is also a longer extension that leads uphill and connects to one of the neighborhoods.

Navigate to 1520 Kittredge Park Road. The preserve is adjacent to Kittredge Park and the trails begin there. The park itself is behind the elementary school.

Took kids for a nature walk and delighted to find these trails so close to home. A great variety for young children— a meadow good for running, playing and picnicking, bridges for stomping and looking for trolls, a creek that was easily accessible and clear enough to look for creatures, and a decent number of benches for little legs that needed a brief rest. As someone else reported, the loop isn’t consistently marked and lots of offshoots wandering in and out. There was one steeper hill with gravel that wee ones could stumble on, particularly after rain, but no issue for the average person. As I am writing this for families looking for little ones’ outdoor time, I would like to note that 1) Several large dogs were off leads in the park (my littles aren’t concerned about doggies but I know some are); 2) there was an extremely strong smell of marijuana in one section of the trail near the creek that had good seating (it *is* a wooded area near a lot of houses and a high school stadium!)

Surprised this fun little hike was so close to the city. I explored pretty much every path and did about 2 miles one part wasn't accessible a bridge was broken so maybe a full 2miles or more in total it's a web train but not to confusing or long there no real markers except a few signs but it's easy to figure out.

A nice quiet trail for the area, but a bit inconsistently marked. Private proprieties have a lot of entrances and exits to the trail making it hard to tell which direction to go at times.

Great trail for a 45 min amble. Wear good shoes. Dog loved it. Trash cans at the beginning but not the end. Easy to NOT get lost- well marked trails. A little busy but not terribly busy- ran into perhaps 10 other groups during our walk. Great areas for picnics or family ball games.

Bridge in the middle of the loop trail is broken but otherwise a great and sparsely populated, heavily wooded trail.

Nice short intertwining trails with beautiful trees, flowers, and greenery. There were a few muddy places but it’s well maintained. Feels like a small escape the city. There is a playground on one side but it is currently closed due to COVID-19.

With leaves and pine needles down, the trail is a little slippery, with a little more use this season, it should be good. It’s a quick mile loop, but it definitely feels woodsy for being so urban.

Nice trails, but maybe 1.25 total mileage without double-backing a lot.

A nice shorter trail loop to escape the city. Close to the hotel where I stayed for work. Seating areas throughout the trails were a nice touch for those that may need. Decent workout on the inclines. Watch for dog poo since people do take their dogs on the trails.... Stay on the main trails to avoid ending up in a variety of back yards. :)

A nice simple & easy clearly marked trail with lots of flowers, a small creek, and lots of greenery. It contained lots of seating options, and is a nice gem in the hustle and bustle of the city. There are two trails - the main one is the “loop trail”, and the other a very short creek trail that contains the nice flowers and creek.

Maybe it's just me, but it's pretty easy to get somewhat lost. I ended up appearing in a neighborhood next to someone's backyard...

Decent, quick loop with average elevation change. Went solo, but would be better if you wanted to do a little picnic or something with folks as there are a couple nice fields.

We like to walk here as a family as it is quite close to home and don’t need to drive. The dog loves it as well. Small trail network but can include it in longer runs in the neighborhood as not technical but gets the heart pumping on a nice small climb

I actually enjoyed the incline that this trail offered! The scenery was beautiful as well. I did notice that it doesn't appear that the park is maintained very regularly. There was a trash can overflowing onto the ground and lots of garbage around it. You have to park in the larger area before you drive down the narrow road to begin the trail. It's in a quiet, neighborhood as well.

Nice place for a walk in town, seems to be a popular spot to take your dogs. Had the awkward feeling that I was walking through backyards most of the time (which I was).
