Cool Springs Overlook is a 0.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Chatsworth, Georgia that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from April until September.
Fort Mountain State Park charges a $5 parking fee. You can also purchase an annual pass that is valid at all Georgia State Parks for $50. This is a very short walk for a big payoff with great views!

November 27, 2020Good mixture of uphill, downhill, & flat. Fort Mountain has lots of rock so plenty of those on the trail. Lots of trees down across the trail from recent storms but easy enough to get around then.

September 10, 2020Loved the trail. Easy stroll from the parking lot and I did it in late April. Beautiful sunny morning at roughly 55-69 degrees and couldn’t complain. Great views. Happy hiking :)
August 16, 2020The old talc mine had cold mist leaving the main shaft. A must see for the area! Slightly overgrown in late summer (aka Covid-19 era, 2020) so wear LONG PANTS and have a spider stick. Beautiful landscapes and water features everywhere.
August 15, 2020It’s just a very short walk to a beautiful view. It’s inside Fort Mountain State Park. From here there are a couple of trails. I was just driving around so I didn’t try any of the trails, but is a gorgeous view!
