Completed a six mile loop trail with the first leg starting here. Easy walk

Definitely a muddy trail after recent rain. Just follow the yellow trail markers. The recorded trail on here is incorrect. If you follow the yellow trail till the end and then turn back it's about 3 miles.

A good little trail. If you follow the directions on the park's website it's about a 5 mile loop. Go on a dry day. Otherwise the trail gets pretty muddy, and when we went it was washed out near the creek where the yellow and red trails merge so we had to turn back. Overall, it's an easy hike and would be beautiful on a nicer day.

This trail is on hallowed ground. We just arrived in the area and used the app to find a 3 mile walk. This popped up. We should have stopped in the visitors center to get a better feel for the trails. We walked nearly a mile, then the trail split 3 ways. We had to guess which was the best way for the "advertised" loop. It wasn't and we ended up taking a trail less traveled that took us deep into the woods. Fortunately, the app helped us find our way back to the trail. All in all, an easy trail that combines history and reminders of the lives lost to form this great nation into a union.

This hike was ok. Not a lot of elevation changes or terribly interesting scenery. It was actually over 6 miles even though we ventured (by accident) over to south chickamauga creek which provided something to look at. From a history point of view, I'm sure it's pretty neat as there are tablets all along the trail to read. We live 10 mins. away so it proved to be a good afternoon local hike.

I grew up around this area and my elementary school would take field trips to the battlefield frequently. There are not many places to feel exactly alone there but there are some fairly nice hidden gems scattered throughout the area like the wild cross monument you may just happen upon while hiking through. Nice trails for running, good distances for moderate to easy runs. Great place to take the kids and plenty of deer to enjoy spotting once in a while too. If you are looking for a place to just get away for a short while and relax this area is not bad and not very challenging but worth the price of admission. It's free.
