Getting There

A well maintained trail along the canyon of the Coleman River. The trail begins at the road and ends abruptly at the river. There are many views of the Coleman River and lots of places pools to swim in. Two campsites along the river a little over half a mile in. There is one small scramble towards the end, the trail is otherwise easily walkable. Great for kids.

At the trailhead there is room for 3 to 4 cars maximum. However, you can park nearby along the road and walk to the trailhead.

Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism, P.O. Box 1776, 285 Peachtree Center Avenue NE , Atlanta, GA, 30301, Phone: 404-656-3590

Hiking

It was nice and definitely easy to moderate. It was a little muddy which made areas tricky and slippery. Some downed trees but only one area you had to carefully climb over a couple fallen ones. Pretty little waterfalls Along the whole trail. It’s too bad it just abruptly ends with no spectacular waterfall at the end or a nice area to sit and enjoy at the end.

HikingGreat!

The blow downs are cleared and it’s a beautiful, short trail. Many small cascades and huge boulders. We began the hike from Tallulah River road at bridge.

This could be such a beautiful trail but it’s a mess with fallen trees. Third bridge had a tree down on it and several blocking the trail... I’ve been wanting to try this trail for a while, so I was disappointed.

Pretty hike but could use some TLC from trail crews. Lots of blowdowns and some broken bridges.

Hiking

Beautiful hike along the river that’s nice and secluded. I would recommend you have some agility skills because there are a number of trees down across the trail. After this hike we walked north for several miles on the road along the Tallulah River.... a beautiful hike as well and no trees to climb over.

A nice short hike in the woods along the river. Very easy trail to follow. The forest has recovered nicely from the fire.

Good hike for families. Should be awesome this spring when the burned areas turn green.
