Great trail. The Cochran Shoals Trail is much more elevation and it’s easy to backtrack. The trail is blazed. I went in trying to do 6 miles and came back to my starting point at 2.4 miles. Note:!’I get lost easily.

This trail is off a huge river, Chattahoochee I believe, but first part of loop had zero coverage and it was hot in June. After you loop to other side it has thick foliage which really prevent you from getting any real pictures of the river which I felt was backwards. Number of dog poop bags were insane that people just tossed on side of trail which made no sense unless they expect the park people to pick them up. I don’t know the etiquette on that but I felt park should have trash cans or people take it out. While we were walking trail we heard then saw a tree fall, so please be careful walking the wooded trail. It’s a nice and wide trail for biking, running, and lots of room for pets and kids. Would definitely bike it because it’s pretty flat.

counted 10+ fallen trees in the middle part of the trail. Great loop with good flowy sections, just need to get a trail crew out there to clean up the fallen trees.

Trail had several fallen trees and was a bit muddy, but otherwise very enjoyable.

good

Very nice hike. Pay attention to which direction mountain bikes are going that day and do the trail so they are coming toward you and not from behind. Lots of ups and downs, not super steep but enough to get in some exercise. Start and end near a nice stream.

Not much to see here, move along. Very nice walking trail and that's about it.

the first and last part were nice and flat. great warm up/cool down. the rest was in the woods. some tough parts, but well worn routes. beware, you're sharing the woods with cyclists. not all of them are considerate.

This is a great trail for mountain biking. I'm not sure why alltrails classifies it as easy. it is a good challenging ride. there's a lot of incline, and roots and rocks to navigate around. I usually incorporate this and the flat trail down by the river and do two laps around the entire thing. it's a nice ride. very good workout.

Hike and bike trail. Mainly in forest. Limited view of the river. Wide trails.

A challenging ride...couldn’t figure out how it could be up hill the whole trail. Just kidding, it’s a great trail pretty narrow. Not for the beginner. Can’t wait to ride it again.

Went in July 2018. Very flat. Took one of the early side trails and the trail was just a bit flooded (2ish inches deep water). We took our 1 and 3 year old on the walk. 3 year old had no trouble for over a mile (great for him). There were some surprisingly very low traffic areas off the main trail. Lots of flowers and butterfly once you get off the main trail. Parking lot was VERY busy on a Sunday morning at 945.

Really enjoyed my walk here. Beautiful scenery. Lots of people but still quiet enough. Loved it!

Nice shaded path for running. Very busy on the weekends, but the trails are wide enough for everyone. Off the wide main paths, there are smaller trails for biking and people who want a more strenuous hike.

You can definitely tailor this trail to your liking with regards to length and intensity. There are several hiking and mountain biking trails off the main gravel path (where this trail starts and ends) where you can play with the intensity of your hike. This connects to the Sope Creek and Cochran trails to the north. I would highly recommend taking the side paths, it’s beautiful through the woods! Another user commented about the grave site. Sarah Ansley and her sister are the two visible graves. Apparently there are another 3-4 that have since crumbled but which memorialized her husband and their children. The sisters outlived their husbands and lived on the spot until their deaths. Interesting!

Half of this is the popular Cochran Shoals Trail, then when you reach the Columns Drive end (if coming from Powers Ferry end), you keep going and just a little ways down, take a right into the woods on the trail that goes up. I’ve always wondered where these trails went. It’s an easy incline. Once you get to a certain point, there’s a 6’x9’ fenced in memorial — a gravesite (see photo). I don’t have any info on it, but it’s quite unusual just out there on the trail. Maybe someone lived up there long ago. I’ll edit this once I find out. At that point I turned left and the rest of the trail was easy, pretty, sparsely populated (I only saw two other people). The trail is used a lot for mountain bikes so you need to be careful because parts of it are very narrow. It was a really nice loop and a nice change from just the Cochran Shoals trail, and it’s a little longer.

I give it a 5 for what I use it for most — a good place to walk my dog. It’s right around the corner from my house so I come here a lot. If you’ve never been here before, expect a lot of walkers and runners and some bikes. Lots of dogs, kids, an easy trail with only about one very minimal incline, a few wooden platforms overlooking the river, nice scenery, but not a “hike.”

$3 to park, just fyi because we didn't realize before we went. It also seems to be a popular spot especially for swimming. The main walkway is a wide gravel road which is good for everyone, then there are a few side trails that are nice but that can also get pretty steep, a good workout and nice view, would do again.
