I parked in the day use lot ($5) next to Buford Dam. From there I headed across the river to the NW side of the Chattahoochee. There is one path that takes you up a little elevation and loops back to the trail that borders the river. I ran into a guy who mentioned there was also a trail on the other side of the river, so I headed back to find that. The east side trail had a bit more elevation. The trails are well maintained and have a bit of rock and trees to traverse. I saw quite a few deer in the hills along this trail. For a beautiful Saturday am, it wasn't too crowded.

Great trail for running or hiking. Dogs and it seems like horses are also welcome.

Very well maintained trail with several different ecological systems. The main trail; along the river is flat with nice views of the river. you can also do a loop at the start of the hike with more elevation gain and lengthen the hike to about 5 miles. The trail is in the North Bowmans Island CRNRA park.
