Cascades and Mill Road Trail is a 2.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Palmetto, Georgia that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Part of the trail was closed for maintenance. And some parts of the trail are poorly marked. Otherwise a lovely trail. Will definitely come again
Beautiful water features. The trail was kind of messy but good inclines.
Beautiful waterfalls, nice peaceful hike, great little views, will be coming back.
Best views between 2nd bridge and start of the loop. Especially nice in winter when there are not so many swimmers.
Shaded. Quiet. Hilly. Scenic. Peaceful. Great for a workout or meditative stroll.
Well shaded. Not busy. Some good inclines. Mildly rocky. Slightly overgrown.
Fun trail. Small climbs, nothing too strenuous. Nice creeks to relax at. Came across 2 deer, one of them got very startled when he saw us, screamed and ran away - sorry little guy. Beginning of the trail had moderate traffic. We just wore our masks in these more trafficked, tighter areas.
We did this trail and the orange loops which I’d highly suggest if you want a longer trail and want to see lots of good views. I will say to be aware that the parking lot doesn’t fit many people. We arrived pretty early and barely got a spot last weekend. So glad we got a spot and was able to see the nice waterfalls. Also, be cautious about snakes. These trails are surrounded by lush forest and water access so wonderful habit for many animals including snakes.
I combined what the park calls the Orange and Green trails. Lovely flowing stream, waterfalls, woods. A lot of incline and sometimes steep descent. Many places you are traversing large rocks and even having to cross boulders to stay on the trail. I do not recommend for children or anyone with weak knees or ankles.
These trails are for mountain bikers and hikers. I enjoyed wandering and doing several trails. Without using All Trails or some kind of gps trail mapping system it would be easy to get lost as some of the areas don’t have the clearest marking. Pretty hike with lots of shade which was nice. The creeks and small waterfalls were pretty.
