Parking is more difficult than the hike itself, having said that, make sure to wear good shoes. The parking situation was a little chaotic. Parking is no longer free but it only accepts payment thru the app, no more credit card at the kiosk. however the app sucks and left without paying. someone needs to fix the app. Spotted a heron while on the trail.

Great views of the river and good elevation later in the walk. Would do it again.

Hills, lots of hills. Overall good trail with a few nice views of the water. Paved so it’s easy in the knees. Good for walking and biking.

Moderate trail, good hills and very nice scenery along the river. the trail connects to the several other trails once you get to Akers Mill. Not good for beginners.

Nice paved trail with some river views. Took off a couple stars because I could hear the traffic from the highway on a lot of the walk.

The lake at the end of the trail is technically private property, I didn't go down to the lake, I just turned around. beautiful either way, nice short easy walk surrounded by nature with a paved trail

The pathway here is paved so there were some people riding bikes. It has a small waterfall & beach area with was awesome for us & the dogs. We spotted a crane (bird) in the river. I will definitely be back but next time I’m bringing stuff for a picnic!

This isn’t hiking, this is urban . Although it’s a nice, easy trail, there is trash everywhere. All-in-all a good little quick “hike” but not really great for enjoying nature among all of the fast food wrappers and cups.

This was one of the only hiking trails in Atlanta that was open. Most other places are closed due to CoVID-19. It was our first time and we loved it. It was a very pleasant paved path along the river that wasn't too long. There is a great spot to get in the river or sun bathe on rocks in the river.

The parking lot is closed for COVID so you will need to find alternate parking up the parkway. The trail is paved the entire way. Easy access to Palisades if you want a diversion. Nice features along the river.

It's a beautiful trail. I went "Forraging" last week for Morrells and only found a very few elephants ear mushrooms. I've only seen three deer on the river in my life and this is my backyard! No "shrooms" here ...but pretty. ** Watch out for the slippery SAND!

An easy out and back multi-use trail that runs along the creek, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. I ride my bike from the Bob Callahan through this trail and back which creates a decent loop with two inclines.

Good easy trail. Took our 3-year-old. No problems. You can go off of the paved path to some connecting trails for less traffic.

This is an ok inter city trail. Most of it is paved but the paved section does have some steep climbs and you will get a workout from it. I am more of a trail hiker so I appreciate the fact that there are a couple of off-pavement trails to check out along the route. I hadn't walked this trail in a long time so it was a nice revisit next to the river.

Pretty easy trail, it is paved the whole way but definitely worth it. Love how it highlights how close nature is in the metro-Atlanta area.

Beautiful trail but unfortunately it does not loop around so you have to circle back on the same path. Very shaded so be aware some areas may be muddy/buggy. Great for an hour of exercise in greenery!

Nice enough for an in-city, paved trail. Connects to West Palisades which makes it much more difficult and interesting.

First to Review

This is an easy trail, paved the whole way on this section. I biked this rather than walk, I connected this section with the Akers mill road to Cochran Shoals area and again to Sope Creek and back. Theres some great downhill speed on the paved trail on the way back to the car here as well, pay attention to the section of sidewalk that is buckled, it will send you off into the air if you're not paying attention and hit it with too much speed.
