Rock outcroppings the size of football fields, streams rushing over woodland waterfalls, hundred-acre farms just like grandpa used to have, and fields of wildflowers undulating in the breeze. The Arabia Mountain Trail respectfully visits all of these natural wonders as it winds through 2,000 acres of protected parkland in south DeKalb County. The trail features several new arched granite bridges, a wooden boardwalk, and a short segment over a rock outcropping. Future phases of the trail are funded and in development. These phases will connect Evans Mill Road to Murphey Candler School and Klondike Road with a new covered bridge over Stephenson Creek. Future phases that are yet to be funded and designed will connect Lithonia with Stone Mountain Park and connect the existing trail to Panola Mountain State Park and Rockdale and Henry counties, including a bridge over the South River.

Really nice hike, lots of different things to see. Pretty easy to follow as long as you check the map in the app occasionally.

Nice trail. Ran into a doe and birds along the way.

Nice terrain but trail markings were horrible. Trying to find the path back off the top of the mountain was a PIA.

Nice hike, but the markings are a bit confusing. The granite gets quite slippery when damp.

A fun hike, but it lacks a view and a “payoff” for the climb.

Great place to ride-at least on a Monday afternoon. Solitude.
Started at Stonecrest Mall but was away from hustle & bustle quick.
Lots of visual distraction. Wildlife, geology, hum of tires. No photos due to phone mounted & riding, but lots of wow.
New to biking, do terminology may be off. Steep & short hills so I got off the seat a lot. Nice change of pace from silver comet,

Awesome trail, extremely pretty, but not very well marked, except around the lake and boardwalk, although it is still fun to navigate with AllTrails. The lake is beautiful and the hike is a gradual incline. If you do this loop you will definitely enjoy yourself. Basically a smaller Stone Mountain with more greenery and a lake. Just be careful not to step in the little pockets of silt on the mountain, those actually contain seeds of a little red plant called diamorpha.

Super cool and unique hike. The face/surface of the mountain is like a different planet. Dog loved splashing through all the little pools of water

Great local place to hike or run. Different than normal wooded areas. Has cool rock outcroppings. Good year around but fall and spring are beautiful. Shaded trail but also open areas so on hot or winter cold days you feel it.

Very little excitement in terms of scenery or technicality on this trail. Wasn't particularly well marked and not maintained very well. Won't be doing again.

Nice trail! There are actually several trails here that can be done separately or together. The elevation was a piece of cake, even when we climbed up the little mountain it wasn't very steep. We had two dogs and a kid and it was great for everybody. Nice for a beginners hike. Maybe not challenging enough for some.

This is a great spot to get out in the woods and enjoy some interesting terrain that is real close to Atlanta. It gives you similar terrain as Stone Mt without the huge crowds. If you get back in the woods you feel very secluded. The Arabia mt hike offers a nice little summit hike kids can do. Take some water as the heat will amplify when hiking on the rocks. The area is wide open because a lot of the granite exposures and you can bushwhack pretty easily through the wooded areas. We only hiked to the summit and a bit around but want to go back and check out the lake.

BEWARE ON 8/21 my car window was smashed and my car was burglarized. We parked at the Evan Mills trail head. The hike was awesome, but a hard lesson learned to not bring any valuables. The police told us it happens "almost every day."
