All I can say is this was an incredible hike! We parked at the trailhead for the Herbert Byron Reece, which is about .7 mile from Walasi-Yi . I started the hike from there and total mileage round trip to Tesnatee was 13.5 miles. Took us about 6.5 hours not including stopping to eat and admire views. And the views are incredible, I imagine it would be very different in Summer time, when the trees are full of leaves. Can’t wait to go back and do the next section..

This is the perfect trail for winter when the leaves are off of the trees. The views are some of the best I have seen. (Some consider this the best part of the AT in Georgia). The trail is easy to navigate with several big climbs. I highly recommend this one!

Spent the night on top of Wolf Laurel Top for amazing sunset, stargazing and sunrise. The wildflowers are absolutely amazing right now (Early September) though another hiker complained about it being "overgrown". An amazing amount of insect activity, but of the pleasant kind, bumble bees and butterflies and such due to all the wildflowers, though I did come across a hiker who had been stung by a bee. Other hikers reported bear activity at Bull Gap campground and copperhead snakes at Cowrock Mountain, but I saw none of these things. Lots of good campsites, but all the water sources I saw were dried up due to lack of rain this summer, so don't count on them being there.

One of my favorite trails. Wildflowers if every description everywhere this time of year. Nice breeze and views were a little hazy.

Hiked this one in February. What a remarkable place. Such beautiful views in a frozen landscape that was surely like no other.

I did this out and back on a Tuesday during a torrential downpour. It was amazing! None of the view points offered much as I could hardly see 10 yards due to the rain. But seeing the trail transform into a small raging stream was cool. This section of the AT is lacking when it comes to signs. I saw some blue blaze trails branching off, but no explanation as to where they led. Possibly to water? Which there is none of along the main trail, unless it's raining!

Hiked four miles into the high point starting at the Tesnatee parking lot, and back. Great weather, beautiful views in the first mile and a half but not much view-wise after that. Some bugs in a few spots along the way back.

I hiked this beginning at Neel’s Gap after overnighting at the Mountain Crossings Hostel. It’s a good uphill climb to Levelland Mountain to begin the hike. Then you’ll summit four more peaks over 3500 feet before the decent into Tesnatee Gap. So, be ready for a roller coaster ride. The best views (and they’re good ones) are along the ridge from Green Cliff Top to Cowrock...just super views north and south. Worth the hike.

Beautiful. Loved the views. Multiple snack encounters. Each with copperheads and very large rattle snack. Otherwise lovely!! Haha!

Beautiful views closer to Tesnatee gap and three summit camp spots. Some solid uphill climbs that quickly even out so it's not difficult. Would have gotten a full five stars but as other hikers have noted, there's not a water. Two sources closer to tesnatee but pretty disappointing flow.

Took our dachshund there on a beautiful sunny day. Only took the one way from Walasi Yi to Tesnatee. It was a rather moderate trail, nothing strenuous.

Cowrock views were nice.
