great hike! When it splits, I recommend going left/up first, saving the best views and overlooks for last

Fun trail with canyonical views over Cloudland! The short side trails to scenic lookouts are worth a few extra minutes.

Great trail. My 60 year old mom completed it with me. No water though as there has been no rainfall lately. Park opened at 7, visitor center at 8.

We enjoyed this trail - great views along the way and good for dogs (only one section with the metal grate stairs and you can climb around to the side of them). We ran into probably a dozen other parties on the trail on a Friday but never shared an overlook and never felt too crowded.

Views views views! This hike was amazing and I highly recommend. There are a lot of roots and rocks on the trail but it wasn’t anything too difficult. If you go, do the whole trail as the views from the loop section are exceptional. It was a HOT day today- we stopped at the cabins at the top and got more water (for us and the dog). Overall great hike!!

This is an easy trail for a fit person. If you want more of a workout, take a right when you hit the loop trail. For an even easier hike, take a left. Absolutely gorgeous views!

Just completed this hike and it was well worth it! Started around 9:30am and finished close to 11:45am, just when it was starting to get sweltering hot outside. We hiked the full rim loop, veering off down the “lollipop stick” part of the trail to down to Cherokee Falls. Super satisfying hike, perfect for a half day adventure.

This was the first trail we did at Cloudland Canyon and it was great!! Definitely a tougher trail but stunning views on the overlooks!! There are parts that aren’t shaded so bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. There is geocaching on this trail as well if you play. My son and I loved this trail but plan to start earlier in the morning next time to avoid the crowds and the heat.

Started the West Rim trail at Yurt 6 (staying in CC for the weekend) rather than at the beginning on the map. Then crossed over going towards East Rim and ended up going into Hemlock Falls instead. Waterfall was neat to see, but they’ve have no rain so the water was minimal. Needless to say, the cold water felt outstanding on my left knee - thank god for the little things. Why? Those stairs are no damn joke on the way down or up. I would liken the West Rim trail to the Sawnee Mountain Indian seats (long trail) in terms of difficulty. Those stairs at Hemlock are more similar to Blood Mountain, though for a shorter distance. Maybe more similar to Cowrock? Anyhoo - they’re rough.
