The island loop trail was pretty muddy near the north side and my 80lb lab ended up chest deep in mud on spur#2. Still a nice walk even though the city hasn’t been out there in a while. It would be real nice with some TLC.

This park/trail has not been maintained properly by the city of Jacksonville in quite some time! Signage to exit confusing/absent, trail not maintained, floods with minimal/moderate rain, no park contacts if trouble arises. Glad they closed this trail...maybe now it will be made safe and enjoyable to the public!

The Tower Trail is open and maintained. It is easy with some boardwalks. The Island Trail is officially closed but we saw other people on it. It is not maintained. It was a nice easy dirt trail, flat with some roots.

Spray pain on the sidewalk says it’s still closed, but you can walk right in. Parts of the upper portion are under a little water but otherwise you can hike the trails just fine. Not being maintained though.

This is a nice little hike with a well maintained path to follow. We have a toddler and frequent it often and he loves it! We usually go around 0900 and it’s traffic is light to moderate in the morning.

Trail still closed!  There is a second trail slightly diagonal across from this one that was very nice.

Arrived to find the trail completely closed off. No idea why

Great trail! We loved the trail and so did our dog. The nature center was a cool spot to check out and has a few cool reptiles. Trail was wide and no spider webs in site. Also there is a well kept dog park and when we went we had it all to ourselves.

It is a nice, reasonably well maintained trail that has an elevated view from a wooden platform at one end. Plenty of shade, heavily wooded. I have gone three times, usually early in the day, and have not encountered many people at all. It has a separate dog play area.

This was a great trail and well marked. The observation tower was very cool. Would be 5 stars but the island trail was closed with no explanation.

Pretty cool trail that was well marked. Would be 5 stars but main trail was closed with no explanation why.

Cautious of this trail after rainfall. Wear hiking boots or galoshes to make this nature trail easier. However the are areas of the tail that's paved, boardwalk, or old brick. The bamboo forest is lovely but can be muddy.

Overall nice place for exercise, biking and walking your dog. Not many views and no wildlife, which was weird. The standing water looked like it has chemicals in it which could be coming from the Navy base. And we didn't see one singe kitty. FYI $300 fine if you are caught feeding the kitties!

Awesome! Did trail running here too! A lot of stray cats outside, bring kitty food! ;) Don’t get caught in the dark alone!
