Looked like a nice trail, but it’s $10 to park, or $20 for an annual pass. This would be a great feature of this app to include this.

WalkingGreat!

Sue and I discovered this park while driving thru New Smyrna. We bought annual pass and it was very well worth it, the board walk and small pavilions are great. Very nice walk to beach/inlet jetties. We will make this park a favorite

Fee

per car fee was $10, not $5 AS listed. worth it for a car load as the walk is very nice and easy. saw several turtles. only down was that the dog walkers did not respect signage and there seemed to be zero enforcement. good walk over all.

This is a very easy trail with an elevated boardwalk that was completely redone in 2018. The trail provides access to a dog park/beach along the Indian River and Ponce Inlet. You can easily see the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse across the Inlet. It is the tallest lighthouse (over 400 ft high) in Florida. It also fronts the Atlantic Ocean. The trail is a large 1.6 mile loop that has 10 covered “pavilions” where you can stop, sit, eat lunch or exercise. You may also see wildlife - gopher tortoises, snakes, osprey, Eagles, etc. You can also stop and watch the local surfers. We walk this trail daily. It’s always a fun nature walk and easy way to get your daily exercise!!

New, well maintained. Too hot to hike in summer. Wide path, shady rest stops along the way or take a detour for a swim in the ocean. Gopher turtles are frequently spotted.

I like that I can access the river, inlet or ocean beach from this loop trail. It is an easy walk and the new boardwalk is very nice. $20 for the year is a good price for admission for locals, but not sure I'd pay $10 each visit without a pass. I don't have a dog, but everyone else seems to. Dogs can go swimming on the river side and I've seen manatees there. The new fishing pier is beautiful. The place can get very busy on weekends and holidays. I try to go during the week.

The boardwalk at The Dunes Park has been completely redone and widened. The distance is just a tad shorter but is a much better running surface. Took about a year to complete and a huge fishing pier has been added. FAB U LOUS!

Beautiful hike on the beach, walk way, and nature trails. Visited the pier to hear some fish stories. Took some beautiful pictures on the rocks and of the lighthouse. Relaxed and enjoyed a picnic spot as well.

I love Smyrna Dunes. $10 is a little pricey for one day entry, but the $20 annual parking pass is 100% worth it if you live in the area.

We love bringing our Boston Terrier here! Friendly staff, nice walking trails, and plenty of room for all. My only suggestion is to check schedules before going.

Pretty! love that dogs have their own beach and swim in the water. Walking the boardwalk is a nice way to get them excited, which parallels a sand trail too. No one is allowed on the inside of the circluar boardwalk, so the beach is the only escape. The park does have restrictions on which parts of the boardwalk allows dogs, so be mindful of signs. Be cautious of the current in the water if you visit the beach with your four legged best friend

Nice easy walk near the beach, lots of places to exit the boardwalk and go straight to the beach. There's also a little beach specifically for dogs! As somebody else already said, there is a $10 entrance fee that we weren't aware of...seems a little steep to me, but if you live near the area you can also pay $20 for a pass that allows you access all year long.

This is a great spot to take the dogs on the beach. A little bit of a walk to the ocean but worth it since there's so little spots along the beach that are dog friendly.

Beware!!!! You must pay $10 to enter this park. I wish someone would have told me that. The lady was very rude and unfriendly. This looks like a nice place to spend the day but I wouldn't waste $10 for a 2mile bike ride.

First to Review

We like taking our dogs here as they are allowed on the boardwalk before 10am. (It's okay if you stay later than that - you just have to walk back on the sand path vs. the boardwalk.) The walk to and from the beach isn't bad but there is indeed little shade. Make sure to bring whatever provisions you need with you - food/fresh water/sun shade. At the parking area there are facilities with vending machines and a wash off station, which was nice for hosing down the dogs after getting all sandy/salty. The view of the Ponce Inlet lighthouse and across the river is nice.
