It’s a slow creek so easy to paddle, there are some areas where the water gets very shallow , and some areas where it can be tricky to maneuver around trees and branch’s in the water. I saw lots of turtles and fish. It’s 50% shade 50% out in the sun. When launching from the park you can either go up or down stream, both are relaxing paddles.

Boy do they need to update this site. I live in Kissimmee so it’s easy for me to put the bike on the back of my car and drive over to Shingle Creek. There are two sections, with a connection that goes underneath the Highway 192. One side of the trail is lightly traveled, paved no traffic, and goes up to the Pioneer Village which is interesting. There’s not a lot of shade but an interesting wood bridge and wildflowers. It goes through a small section near apartments, you will see people walking their dogs on leashes using the trail. Bicycles just simply need to be aware and share the trail. On The other side of the bridge is a kayak shop, and the Creek runs definitively through this area. There are beautiful cypress trees. This part of the trail actually runs and extends now behind this kayak shop, and this part of the trail is on the backside of the Kissimmmee airport, all the way into downtown Kissimmee . I love the fact they opened up this part of the trail. It was quiet, backside residential. You can see planes taking on and off from the private airport, but they don’t let you stop and picnic there. If you want to go downtown regular business hours there are little restaurants and coffee shops. Also you can find your way over to the Kissimmee Lakefront, which is also a very pretty park and a nice 1 mile ride that way. You can make a day trip out of it. Make sure that you bring your water bottle and a good hat and sunscreen.

Shingle Creek It’s NOT a 4.2 mile hike. It is approximately 1 mile. The 4.2 miles track is actually a paddle on the water. I was going there expecting a 4.2 mile hike. It is beautiful with picnic areas bike trails but if you’re expecting a 4.2 mile hike you’re going to be disappointed. I would’ve given this a five but because of the discrepancy in this info I will only do three.

It was a nice day. Any hotter and we would have been baking. Most of the trail follows the power lines which I could do without, but saw all kinds of birds, insects, turtles and a resident alligator. We took the kids, 11 and 13. Long enough and lots to see.

I don't think this 4.2 trail exists. There is only a 0.7 miles trail to Bass rd and that's it.
