Awesome time. I put in at the Santa Fe River Outpost on US Hwy 441 and spent the day traveling to the boat ramp on Hwy 47. it was about a 13 mile trip and was great. Visited several of the springs along the way. It was a little crowded traveling through the Ginnie Springs area but it was Memorial Day weekend so i expected that. Met some really nice people along the way

There are several drop off points in the river, you can do several shorter canoe trips, I've done the short high rise river run a few times and its a fun 3 hours trip from high springs upriver to where the river comes out (part of this river is under ground) It's a lovely run all year round! If you live in Gainesville or any surrounding areas its a short drive (40mins)up there and there are plenty of canoe/kayak rental places around (about 35$ a canoe) Wildlife is abundant along the river, I've seen all kinds of birds including turkeys, as well as turtles and fish.
