Sanibel-Captiva Ride is a 10.8 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Sanibel, Florida that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
A portion of this trail at about the 5.7 mile mark is along a residential road way. Wearing a helmet, bright colors, and using lights and flags is always recommended when sharing space with motor vehicles. Enjoy! Accessibility: This asphalt, cement, and wooden bridge trail is estimated to typically be at least 6 feet wide. There is a center dividing line for most of the route cutting the effective width in half to allow for passing. The slope is estimated to be flat to gentle and range from -3% (downhill) to 3% (uphill) grade. It is unclear if there are ADA-compliant car parking spots at the trailhead lot.
Beautiful trail, but it was flooded. Will return in the future
Great trail. Nice ocean breeze. Saw lots of rabbits, birds, and a gator. Very well marked and easy to follow. Highly recommend checking out the lighthouse.
Nice ride with plenty of stop points. Restaurants, beaches, shops, even drinking fountains and bathrooms. Beach side trails are through aces road to resorts and residences so it is narrower and close quarters passing traffic from opposite direction riders and walkers.
Rode from the Sanibel lighthouse through Ding Darling to Blind Pass and back with a stop at Totally Baked on Sanibel for a fresh donut and a Key Lime cookie.

Rode from the Sanibel lighthouse through Ding Darling to Blind Pass and back with a stop at the Sanibel Farmers Market.
Went to the JN 'Ding' Darling wildlife preserve...a MUST do for anyone interested in birds! Many short trails to walk and the main 'wildlife' road through the park is excellent ! WARNING: it is closed on Fridays! While on Sanibel, hit the beaches too as they are some of the best in Fl. The 'Watertower' beach tends to be crowed, but the City Park and Bowman's beach are much less so. Sunset's from Bowman's Beach are spectacular, but bring a light coat as it gets very cool after sunset. Birding here is good too with lots of sandpipers and a variety of gulls to photograph and observe.
