Short side loop off the Sams House at Pine Island Trail. Approximately 2.2 miles long. Beware of mosquitoes! We backtracked the loop a little because they were so bad. It relatively easy trail. It’s Florida, and it’s HOT! Bring water, bug spray, sun screen.

Simple trail that has some nice parts. The area close to Sams house is through some trees, and the rest is basically walking a dirt road

It’s a really nice trail and there is so cover so the shade is nice. I went alone and felt super safe and met a few people along the way who were very nice. I did the blue trail the white loop and the garnet trail and it was quick and easy. The trail is marked nicely and frequently. There’s lots of roots so be careful of tripping. Found a snake (kind I know not) and I was a bit nervous about the gator sign but did not see any. It’s about 72 today and it was very cool under the trees and just a really great walk.

Great trail. You’ll want to spray with bug spray first and bring water. Lots of beautiful plants and mushrooms. Was a bit muddy bit today, but a fun walk! Followed the garnet trail about half way, then turned around and didn’t have any trouble. Well marked.

Beautiful swamps. Lots of old growth, and many alligators. Wear bug spray!!!!! you can park at one end, and uber to to the other to begin your hike. :) If you don't have bug spray, do NOT go. I learned the hard way, I can't out run em.

I was originally going to Little Big Econ... but I changed my mind and went to Pine Island instead. I’m glad I did. An AWESOME hike! It was a bit hot... but nothing too crazy. White and red trail have crazy bugs, too many. But once you finish the red trail and get to the lake... it’s wide open and beautiful. Hiked all the way to the main kiosk and then over the the river. Beautiful scenery. Total of 6 miles. Make sure to take plenty of water and bug spray.

Great hidden place. Lots of shade on some trails. Only issue is things aren’t marked the best. They have color markers but doesn’t really tell you where you are or where you are going. Would be great if they would put numbers on the post. We ended up doing the same loop at least 3-4 times because it all looked the same.

it was nice trail but a bit buggy, even with repellent the mosquitoes where everywhere. I am gonna try it again durring the winter and it should be much better.
