Eliminate motor vehicles and this would be a really nice trail.

Good birding. Many close to shore. Nesting in late winter. Flat easy walking.

If you have an hour to kill, this is a good place to do it. It's basically a dirt track around a couple of small lakes and wetlands area. But if you're looking to stretch your legs with a chance to see some alligators and birds in their natural habitat, it's worth a side trip to do. If you get over-heated easily though, be warned: there is absolutely zero shade. I was there on an early February morning which is about as good as it gets in Florida with cool temps and no bugs but you could bake out here in the summer.

I never imagined a dirt road being included on AllTrails. There were 50 cars, trucks, golf carts and motorcycles driving around in this very small area, and between the dust and the exhaust, it wasn’t a very pleasant hike. There were a few birds hanging out, but they are the same ones in my neighborhood pond.

4 alligators. 2 deer. 1 snake. More birds and ducks than we could count. Pleasant weather and enough breeze to never let us get warm. Top 3 Brevard hike for us so far.

The trails are not the highlight, though the views of then habitats are nice. The birds are what most appear to come for. We saw at least twenty species on a fairly windy day, as well as several gators. Today was my first time ever to see a heron carry a 2-ft snake, writhing desparetely in the clamped beak as the bird flew low off into distance.

Easy walk, clean and well maintained. Very popular and accessible to all. For hickers the issue is that you walk with cars.

Very open and birds are everywhere. I love the trails and the Great blue heron nests in the wintertime. Also have seen a Sandhill Crane nest in the past as well. Beautiful place to watch the sunset. Overall, one of my favorite places in Florida and I am so happy it exists in this town.

My second favorite place for walking...first being the Linear Trail near the Brevard Zoo. Unlike Linear there is no shade and the trail is a dirt road shared with vehicles. Speed limit is 5-10MPH for cars so no danger of being run over by some crazed driver. I walk against traffic so I can keep an eye on them. An advantage over the Linear Trail is they have two outhouses so advanced planning for coffee intake isn't needed!

We ride our bikes on this trail with our dog. No shaded areas. Lots of wildlife. I wish I saw less trash but we still like to visit. Cars are able to drive this trail so be mindful.
