This trail leads through verdant oak woodland and is located at Ringhaver Park, operated by the city of Jacksonville. The thick, shady forest allows year-round hiking. In addition to hikers, paddlers also use the trail to access the canoe/kayak launch located on the Ortega River.

Went a few weeks ago, wonderfully shady and easy going.

The kids and I love it, especially the long boardwalk to the water.

Beautiful trail and enjoy the river view from the ramp. Disappointed that it is being abused. Beer cans and liquor bottles litter the swamp floor and will get carried into the river when it floods. picked up trash that I could get to and hiked it out. It's a shame to ruin such a beautiful area.

Very nice little trail for a short, easy walk in the woods near the Ortega River offshoot of the St.John's River in Jacksonville. The trailhead is located in a sports recreation park, but the trail quickly moves out into more natural Florida river lowlands and wetlands. Wonderful place for a walk, but perhaps a bit far to use as a canoe launch.
