The Wetlands Park is great to place to come out, relax and enjoy nature. The Park is not open to vehicular traffic. The most popular activities are bird-watching, nature photography, jogging and bicycling. Nature enthusiasts will be greeted by 1,650 acres of hardwood hammocks, marshes and lakes. There are over 20 miles of roads and woodland trails crisscrossing the Park. Dogs are not permitted at the Orlando Wetlands Park.

there is no shade. I do not recommend on a hot sunny Florida afternoon. Even with plenty of water I thought my husband was going to have to carry me out. Lots of gators to see so that is fun.

Awesome trail during this time of year. But I don’t think I can recommend it during regular Florida sun season, no shade at all. I suspect that this trail would be enjoyed by mountain bikers as well when the soil dries up. Alligators, deers, vultures, etc; all kinds of wildlife and great place to take out your professional cameras. Great swampland views as well. This trail branches out pretty wide with awesome landmarks and benches all throughout.

Excellent and beautiful park for birding and nature. Many alligators and wonderful birds live in this park. Depending on the time of day you might find a tree that has a little shade but otherwise bring the sunscreen, water and hats as it is very open. Trails are great for a peaceful bike ride or hike.

An excellent place to enjoy nature. The path is easy to navigate and the bird sightings plentiful. There seems to be a couple side trails to check out for next time when we have more bug spray. The ‘overlook’ was the best part, with gorgeous Monet-like lily pads and marsh landscape as a backdrop. Rolling down the hill is highly recommended. There is no shade on this trail, so sun protection is a must

This was such an incredible place. I saw so much wildlife here. On the weekends they have a tram service that is free and will drive you around and the volunteers will talk about the area. This place was awesome. The only downfall is that there is no shade. You will see all kinds of wildlife from alligators, snakes, birds, and many different types of plants. Definitely recommend this place.

Really beautiful trail

One of my all time favorite parks in florida!! There's plenty of other paths in the park besides the loop shown here, so theres lots to explore! Trail was comfortable but open, so bring water and sun protection. The park was crawling with wildlife. Ive lived in florida my whole life and Ive never see so many gators in one place. It was an amazing experience

A lot of gators! But really nice trail

Beautiful scenery. Lots of wildlife. Good water conservation happening here.

We had such a great time! We did the full 3.9 loop and saw soo many alligators! There were a couple that were even on the banks! Absolutely beautiful! I will say that it may not be an idea trail during the summer months, not a lot of reprieve from the sun. Today was 80° and gorgeous so it was manageable without shade. Definitely recommend the hike!

This is a wonderful place for hiking, especially if you would like to see birds and other wildlife. Very little shade exists to keep you cool in the summer time.

Easy for all levels. Clean bathroom facilities in the parking area. Signage is easy to follow. We had a very enjoyable 2.5 hr walk, saw lots of wildlife ( gators & birds) & very few people during our afternoon hike.

Began this hike around 4pm (in January) which was perfect for some cool scenery of the sunset. This area would be perfect for riding trail bikes. There is a wide range of wildlife to view.

This a really great place to get some great wildlife photos. They have a large variety of birds such as heron, egrets, ducks, coot, spoonbills, stork, crane, hawks and more .. plus alligators and occasionally other wildlife. You can walk it or bring bicycles out and ride it (which I prefer here). The scenery is beautiful too ... quite amazing for what amounts to a natural sewage treatment system.

I LOVED this hike. I walked 5 miles and saw a total count of 38 gators. Unreal. Tons of birds to see including bald eagles, spoonbills and cranes. Saw a mother and baby deer by the back of the park as well. The hike itself is a relaxing walk but it got quite hot as the morning went on. Overall it was well worth it and was a great hike! Will definitely do it again.

Only got to spend 45 Minutes here. It’s a birding paradise

One of my most favorite places to hike around here. During the summer it gets flooded FYI.

This place is amazing!! One of the best trails in central Florida. Guaranteed gator sightings!!

So much fun with my main squeeze ❤️ had lots of fun walking this.

Unique park and trail with lots of birds and wildlife. There's a tall hill, the "overlook" that gives a neat 360 view. On a hot day this trail is more enjoyable biked in my opinion. Theres a water bottle filling station and a water fountain at the trail head by the parking lot.

Thu May 04 2017

Lots of wildlife here including spoon bills and gators. It gets very hot with little shade, so go early with plenty of water and a hat or umbrella.

Sun Feb 19 2017

Beautiful park! It is all out in the open though, so be sure to wear sunscreen. I spent 4 hours walking around out there yesterday and loved it. Will definitely be back. Beautiful views and lots of wildlife.

NO LONGER CLOSED Nov to January - this changed in 2016. What an amazing park! We biked the roads (berms around the ponds), on our hybrid bikes, the northwest corner is the most difficult to bike with some overgrown roads. Its also the least scenic, so just stick with the main loop and be amazed. We were there in June and the number of birds were amazing. Cant wait to go back in winter when all the migrants are down. Take lots of water as there is little shade Make sure you go to the Overlook - a large dirt mound and from the top you can see 360 view of the park. What a gem of a park.

Many alligators and birds. There are two eagles, but I did not see them. Loved the wildlife.
